Abstract:
In some embodiments are an article including a woven fabric having warp yarns and weft yarns. Either warp yam or weft yarn or both warp and weft yarns have two separate systems of yarns. The systems of yarns include a hard yarn forming the main body of fabric and a composite covered elastic yarn with an elastic fiber core; wherein the fabric has an outer face side, a back side, and the fabric includes at least one of: (a) a weaving pattern where the composite yarn and at least one adjacent hard yarn pass over the same pick when the composite yarn is on the outer surface; (b) the ratio of hard yarn denier to composite yarn denier is at least 1 : 1; and (c) the composite yarn floats over no more than 5 picks on the outer face side.
Abstract:
A catalyst composition and a process for using it to decompose nitrous oxide into nitrogen and oxygen are disclosed. The catalyst composition has surface area of about 1 to about 200m 2 /g after exposure to a calcination temperature of between about 400°C and about 900°C, or about 1 to about 100 m2/g after exposure to a calcination temperature of between about 400°C and about 950°C.

Embodiments of the present disclosure include soil repellent compositions, methods for imparting resistance to soiling on a fibrous substrate, fibrous substrates to which a soil repellent composition has been applied and dried, methods of making soil repellent compositions, and the like.
Abstract:
A filament comprising a synthetic polymer and characterized by a hexalobal cross-section having three major lobes and three minor lobes, and a major radius (R 1 ) and a minor radius (R 2 ). Each lobal cross-section having essentially straight side portions extending outwardly and tangent to a convex tip at each end. The ratio of the major radius (R 1 ) to the minor radius (R 2 ) defining an exterior modification ratio (R 1 /R 2 ) of greater than (1).
Abstract:
The invention includes a dyed knit, elastic fabric comprising polyethylene terephthalate and spandex. The fabric has staining grade numbers of 4.0 or higher, as measured by staining of multifiber test fabrics in AATCC Test Method 61-1996-2A, and is dyed with disperse dyes comprising azo or anthraquinone molecular groups. The invention further includes a method for making the knit fabric.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to compositions of specific carboxylic acid, fatty acid or oil derivatives containing nitrile groups and methods of their preparation. The preparation involves a hydrocyanation reaction. A method of hydrogenating the nitrile containing carboxylic acids obtained by the above hydrocyanation to produce amine containing carboxylic acids is also disclosed in this invention.
Abstract:
A polyamide composition, which includes an optical brightener together with either an antimicrobial agent or anti-oxidant stabilizer, or both, is suitable for making yarns, and fabrics, garments, molded articles or other articles such as carpets from these yarns. Processes for incorporating optical brighteners into polyamide compositions, polymers and yarns to make fabrics and molded articles that exhibit superior whiteness after heat-setting are also disclosed.
Abstract:
The invention provides a polyester bicomponent core spun yarn comprising a sheath of at least one hard fiber and having an English cotton count of from about 5 to about 60 and a core of bicomponent polyester filament. The invention further includes a fabric substantially free of grin-through of the bicomponent polyester filament.
