Abstract: The present application provide an air purifier and a cleaning method for same The air purifier includes: a housing, which is provided with an air inlet and an air outlet and a detachable door panel; a protective cover, which is detachably disposed on an inner wall of the housing and opposite to the door panel, and located between the air inlet and the air outlet; and an electrostatic filter element, which includes an emission assembly and a collection assembly, the emission assembly and the collection assembly are detachably disposed in the protective cover, the emission assembly is located at a side of the collection assembly close to the air inlet. The detachable protective cover is provided to facilitate washing and protect the housing. The emission assembly and the collection assembly are detachably mounted in the protective cover, so that they can be separately cleaned.

Abstract: A magnetic tool for manipulated conveyance over a surface for magnetic collection of ferrous articles. This tool has a three-sided extruded channel, which cooperates with an opposing steel top plate to form a protective magnet housing for one or more magnets.The extruded channel is configured to direct magnet flux downward to optimize the attraction efficiency of the tool.Magnetic flux is further optimized by the use of multiple magnets in the channel housing of opposite polarity. The steel top plate channel also serves as the primary structural element of the tool for attachment of conveyance and manipulation means, such as an adjustable handle by means of an ACME collar and two axles for wheels.The invention is the three-sided extruded channel, that has an incorporated track for a free-floating hinged release lever. The release lever has been designed specifically as a means of easily removing ferrous material attracted by the three-sided channel, that allows to pass through the magnetic field from the magnets. As a means of incorporating minimal mechanical friction, the magnets are allowed to remain in a static position within the housing. A free-floating release lever is incorporated via a hinge into the extruded housing as to create a space gap between the magnetic field and the ferrous materials collected when operated. This allows for easy removal of the ferrous material without the operator having to be in direct contact with it.

Abstract: Methods of concentrating beads in a droplet and/or loading beads on a fluidic device are provided, including among other things, a method of concentrating beads in a droplet, the method comprising: (a) providing a droplet actuator comprising: (i) an interior droplet operations volume; and (ii) a reservoir exterior to the interior volume; (iii) a droplet established in a liquid path extending from the reservoir into the interior volume; (b) providing magnetically responsive beads in the portion of the droplet which is in the reservoir; (c) magnetically attracting the magnetically responsive beads through the liquid path into the portion of the droplet which is in the interior volume; and (d) forming a droplet comprising one or more of the magnetically responsive beads in the interior volume.

Abstract: A magnetic filtration device (105) configured to entrap magnetically susceptible material and non-magnetically susceptible material. An array of magnetic columns (703, 704) of alternating north and south polarity are positioned within a plurality of chambers (308, 309) that direct the fluid flow in an extended flowpath through a magnetic field circuit created by the columns of magnets (703, 704). A separator flange (305) acts to entrap nonferrous particles for subsequent removal and isolation from a fluid network in which the device (105) maybe installed.

Abstract: An electrostatic particle collector may generally include a housing having sidewalls extending lengthwise between a first end and a second end. The housing may define a plate slot that extends heightwise within the housing between a top end and a bottom end. The housing may further include a plate access window that provides access to the bottom end of the plate slot. The collector may also include a collector plate configured to be installed within the plate slot that extends heightwise between a top edge and a bottom edge. Additionally, when the collector plate is installed within the plate slot, the bottom edge of the collector plate may be accessible from an exterior of the housing via the plate access window so as to allow the bottom edge of the collector plate to be moved relative to the housing to facilitate removal of the collector plate from the housing.
