The present disclosure generally relates to polymer-aerogel/fiber composite materials, polymer-aerogel/textile composite materials, and systems and methods for producing them. The gel material can comprise, in some embodiments, a network of polymer. The fiber and/or textile material can comprise at least one of any natural, synthetic, and/or mineral fiber. In some cases, certain combinations of materials, solvents, and/or processing steps may be synergistically employed so as to enable manufacture of materials suitable for use in apparel, soft goods, and other consumer applications which may benefit from the properties of a polymer-aerogel/fiber composite and/or the polymer-aerogel/textile composite.

The present disclosure provides biodegradable adhesive compositions and methods of making the same, including a latex and a biodegradation agent. wherein the latex preferably has a total solids content from 50 wt % to 90 wt %, and wherein the biodegradation agent is preferably present in an amount from about 0.5 wt % to 5 wt % based on the total solids content of the latex. Also, the present disclosure provides biodegradable flooring products and methods of making the same.

A composite structure, a resin film, and a method of manufacturing the resin film are provided. The composite structure includes a release carrier and a resin film. The release carrier includes a release substrate and a release resin layer that is formed on the release substrate. The release resin layer covers the release substrate at a coverage rate of between 60% and 100%. The resin film is formed on the release carrier. The resin film is bonded to each of the release substrate and the release resin layer.

The present invention pertains to a method to manufacture a textile product, in particular a carpet product such as broadloom carpet, carpet tiles, mats and rugs, comprising a first sheet having polyamide yarns fastened to this sheet to form a pile thereon, the method comprising providing the sheet, stitching the polyamide yarns through the sheet to form the pile on a first surface of the sheet, the pile extending for a predetermined length from this first surface, and to form loops of the yarns at a second surface of the sheet, and fastening the yarns to the sheet by creating a layer of fused material on the second surface of the sheet using heat, wherein during creating the layer of fused material, at least the distal half of the length of the pile is maintained at a temperature at least 70° C. below the melting temperature of the polyamide. The invention also pertains to a method to use a textile product obtained with the new method and a device for applying the said method.

The present invention provides a crimped polyamide yarn to which it is possible, using fibers that include low water absorption polyamide, to impart a stretch property and pliability such that it is possible for the inherent stretch properties of the crimped yarn to be appropriately expressed in a woven or knit fabric. The crimped polyamide yarn of the present invention is a side-by-side composite yarn which includes at least 40 mass % of low water absorption polyamide having an average of water absorption ratio of 5% or less at a temperature of 30° C. and a relative humidity (RH) of 90%, and in which the low water absorption polyamide is at least one component. The yarn is false-twisted, and has a crimp elongation ratio of 25% or more.

In one aspect, parachute buffer materials are described herein. In some embodiments, parachute buffer materials described herein comprise a fabric formed from a plurality of fibers and a coating disposed on at least one outer surface of the fabric. The fibers have an inner component formed from a thermoplastic material and an outer component formed from a non-thermoplastic material. In some cases, the fabric is a woven fabric. Additionally, the coating can comprise or contain a silicone along with, or without, other functional components. Moreover, materials described herein can be used to form various structures for parachute buffering applications, and the coatings of materials described herein can enhance the materials' buffering performance.
