    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a management method that is able to reduce the number of times that data is transferred in a storage system.SOLUTION: A storage system comprises: a plurality of storage devices; and a controller controlled so as to manage the positive volume of the storage system and a sub-volume composing a remote copy pair, and corresponds to some of the storage devices. The sub-volume has the function of storing data included in journal data from the other storage system by a remote copying process. In a case where the relation between the journal data and another journal data having a sequence smaller than the sequence number of the journal data and transmitted to the storage system from the other storage system satisfies conditions, the controller performs processing such that before the journal data is stored in the sub-volume, the journal data is temporarily stored in a third volume corresponding to other portions of the storage devices.

    Abstract: A storage system has a primary storage device for storing data from host devices, and first and second secondary storage devices.
