Abstract:
A controlling device (10) location determination system and method. A controlling device (10) such as a remote control has programming for transmitting a signal response to a plurality of control environments (100, 130, 140), each environment including a signaling device. Each signaling device in receipt of the signal request sends a signal response having a unique ID (associated with location definitions relating to the environment from which he signaling device is located) which is chosen to be characteristically attenuated by the surroundings of the environment (i.e., IR signals in a room). Because the controlling device (10) can only be in one environment at a given time, and given the attenuation characteristics of the signal response from each signaling device, only one signal response will be received by the controlling device (10) in each environment (100). Location definitions associated with the received unique ID may be used by programming in the controlling device to recall saved devices states, commands sets, macros, and even to dynamically generate commands based on the location information.
Abstract:
Provided are a terminal device, a remote control system and a control method. The terminal device includes a communicator configured to communicate with a plurality of external devices; a display configured to generate and display a chat window upon receiving an occurrence signal for a predetermined event from a first external device among the plurality of external devices; and a processor configured to control the communicator to connect to at least one second external device related to the predetermined event, wherein the processor is further configured to control the display to display the at least one second external device in the chat window, a message inquiring whether to perform a predetermined job corresponding to the predetermined event, and a graphic user interface (GUI) for selecting whether to perform the predetermined job.

Abstract:
Disclosed is a display apparatus (1) capable of receiving a remote control signal from a remote controller (10a-10n) for a different apparatus (2a-2n) and outputting a converted remote control signal and a control method thereof, the display apparatus including: a display (203) configured to display an image; a communicator (205) comprising communication circuitry; a signal receiver (201) configured to receive a remote control signal from among a plurality of remote controllers (10a-10n) respectively corresponding to a plurality of external apparatuses (2a-2n); and a controller (200) configured to perform a function corresponding to an image displayed on the display in response to a command included in the received remote control signal, or to control the communicator to transmit the command to an external apparatus (2a-2n) selected corresponding to the image displayed on the display from among the plurality of external apparatuses (2a-2n). Thus, the display apparatus (1) receives a remote control signal from a remote controller (10a-10n) for controlling an external apparatus (2a-2n), and uses the received remote control signal to directly perform a function or transmit a command to an apparatus desired to be controlled by a user, thereby allowing the user to easily use the remote controller.
Abstract:
A display apparatus is provided. The display apparatus is configured to control at least one external device to which an identification marker is attached. The display apparatus also includes an imaging sensor configured to obtain an image of the at least one external device, and a communicator configured to perform communication with at least one of a server and the at least one external device. The display apparatus also includes a processor configured to transmit identification information obtained from an identification marker included in the image, and in response to control information for controlling the at least one external device being received from the server or the at least one external device, control the display to match and display an object for controlling the at least one external device with an external device image based on the control information.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a remote controller capable of remotely controlling a plurality of devices. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the remote controller includes a transmitter to transmit a transmitting signal, a receiver to receive a reflective signal from a first reflection pattern, an image projector to project an image outward, an input unit provided with a plurality of buttons, and a controller to perform a control operation to enter a remote control mode for a first device corresponding to the first reflection pattern based on the reflective signal from the first reflection pattern and to perform a control operation to project a remote control window for remote control of the first device outward through the image projector. Thereby, remote control may be performed based on image projection.
Abstract:
To accurately determine the nearest electronic device in establishing a pairing with an electronic device to be a target for remote control. A terminal device includes a received signal strength acquiring unit, a device selection processing unit, and a connecting unit. The received signal strength acquiring unit receives a signal transmitted from a plurality of electronic devices and acquires the electric field strength of the received signal. The device selection processing unit selects an electronic device to be a target for connection from the plurality of electronic devices in accordance with a normalized electric field strength that is a value obtained by normalizing the electric field strength of the received signal using a parameter corresponding to and unique to an electronic device that transmits the received signal. The connecting unit establishes a connection with the electronic device selected at the device selection processing unit.
Abstract:
The invention relates to the remote control for technical devices, comprising a passive RFID transponder which triggers a switch contact in the event of a physical contact of a user, in order to emit information to control the technical device.
