    Abstract: A vibration isolator has four fluid filled variable volume load bearing chambers, with two arranged on one side of a core and the other two on the other side. The core and chambers are contained within a frame, with the chambers extending between the core and the frame, so that vibrating the core axially compresses or extends the chambers. Diagonally opposite pairs of chambers are each connected with a separate fluid track, and the two fluid tracks may be tuned to have different resonant frequencies or the same resonant frequency. The chambers are defined by elastomeric bodies which may be reinforced using a tubular shaped reinforcing element adjacent to the chamber, to help contain the pressures within the chamber without materially increasing the compression strength of the elastomeric bodies. A fluid expansion chamber communicates with the fluid envelope of the chambers and tracks through porous flow restriction elements which allow flow to or from the expansion chamber in response to temperature changes of the fluid but snub significant flow to or from the expansion chamber which may otherwise be caused by subjecting the isolator to vibrations.

    Abstract: A hydraulic circuit for opening and closing of a folding roof. The circuit comprises at least two (pairs of) cylinders, one of which being adapted to open and close the folding roof and the other of which being adapted to lock the roof upon closing. The hydraulic circuit further comprises electrically operated valves provided in the circuit in such a way that the (closing) pressure within the roof cylinder is released rapidly as soon as the front roof edge gets within the catching area of the lock member, after which the lock cylinder will immediately close. This prevents the roof from moving into the closing direction too far, which would involve the tendency of the roof to "spring back" and avoids the chance of "miscatching" by the lock member.

    Abstract: A method for producing a metal hose coupling which is designed to be mounted permanently on the end of a hose for pressurized hydraulic oil, which hose coupling creates a fluid connection between the hose and an attachment member, the hose coupling having at least one hose nipple which, in the fitted state, projects into the hose and a connecting part, which is designed to form a connection to the attachment member, the hose coupling furthermore comprising, for each hose nipple, a deformable sleeve which, in the fitted state, rests around that part of the hose which has been pushed onto the hose nipple and, with deformation to the sleeve, holds the hose on the hose nipple, an oil passage extending through the connecting part and the at least one hose nipple. The connecting part and the hose nipple are produced as a single-piece body by means of the metal injection moulding process.

    Abstract: The folding roof unit has a rear U-form member (13) which pivots freely in relation to a main U-form member (10). The rear U-form member pivots rearwards by an actuator (16). The rear member pivots until reaching a position past the position corresponding to the closed position of the roof, such that the top is stretched between the members. Consequently, a main bracket and part of the top supported by the member also pivots rearwards.

    Abstract: A twist-on connector for electrical wires has a shell of insulating material and a metal coil inserted into an aperture in the shell. The aperture extending from one end of the shell and has an outer tapered section which is threaded to engage the electrical wires. A beveled section of the aperture extends inwardly from the outer tapered section to an intermediate tapered section. The intermediate tapered section is formed by a threadless region which is proximate to the beveled section and a threaded region extending inward from the threadless region. A closed end section of the aperture adjoins the intermediate tapered section. The coil is frusto-conical with several turns at the larger end engaging the threadless region of the aperture and the smaller end engaging the closed end section of the aperture. The middle coil portion is spaced from the shell. Cooperation of the shell aperture sections and the coil enables the coil to be pressed directly into the aperture without having to rotated either component during insertion which was previously required to avoid thread damage.
