Abstract: Technology for user equipment (UE) operable to decode beam indication related information received from a New Radio (NR) base station in a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) is disclosed. The UE can decode a transmission configuration indication (TCI) received in a downlink control information (DCI) from the NR base station on a scheduling physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) in a scheduled bandwidth part (BWP) or a scheduled component carrier (CC). The UE can decode a scheduling offset received from the NR base station, wherein the scheduling offset is an offset time for reception of beam indication related information in a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH). The UE can decode the beam indication related information received from the NR base station in the PDSCH on the scheduled BWP or the scheduled CC at a time period greater than or equal to the scheduling offset relative to the PDCCH transmission.

Abstract: Technology for a user equipment (UE) configured for bandwidth adaptation (BWA) is disclosed. The UE can decode resource allocation information for a first radio frequency (RF) bandwidth including a primary subband available to the UE for data communication. Th 5 e UE can decode resource allocation information for a second RF bandwidth, wherein the second RF bandwidth comprises the first RF bandwidth and at least one secondary subband available to the UE for data communication. The UE can encode data for transmission to a next generation NodeB (gNB) using resources allocated for the second RF bandwidth in the primary subband and the secondary subband. The UE 10 can have a memory interface configured to send to a memory the resource allocation information for the first RF bandwidth and the second RF bandwidth.

A beam failure recovery request is to be transmitted to a gNB after a random access response from the gNB, wherein the beam failure recovery request is to be transmitted via Message 1 or Message 3 to the gNB, and a response is to be received from the gNB via Message 2 or Message 4.

The UE can determine a covariance matrix for a channel between the UE and the gNB. The UE can quantize the covariance matrix to obtain a quantized covariance matrix. The quantized covariance matrix can include M best diagonal entries that are selected from the covariance matrix, wherein M is an integer. The UE can encode the quantized covariance matrix as feedback for transmission to the gNB.

Abstract: Devices and methods of determining offsets for different eNBs in a dynamic switched CoMP network are generally described. A UE may receive, in an RRCConnectionReconfiguration message, DL parameter sets associated with different eNBs and having reference signal information for a PSS, SSS and DRS. The UE may receive reference signals based on the DL set associated with the eNB and determine a timing/frequency offset based on the reference signals. The offsets may be used to decode a dynamically switched PDSCH indicated by a PDCCH. The DL sets may indicate which PDCCH to detect or the PDCCH from the same cNB may be used and the PDSCH determined from a DCI in the PDCCH. A UL DCI may indicate which of UL parameter sets to use. The UL sets may indicate a reference signal to determine path loss and a timing advance value.

Abstract: Technology for a next generation node B (gNB), operable to use phase tracking reference signals (PT-RS) is disclosed. The gNB can identify a modulation and coding 5 scheme (MCS) for the UE for a bandwidth part (BWP) with a subcarrier spacing (SCS). The gNB can select a time density of the PT-RS based on the MCS. The gNB can select a frequency density of the PT-RS based on an allocated bandwidth in the BWP. The gNB can encode the time density and the frequency density, for the PT-RS for transmission to the UE in higher layer signaling.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for transmission and reception of SPS communications are disclosed herein. User equipment (UE) is configured to receive, in a first subframe, a physical downlink control channel or enhanced physical downlink control channel (PDCCH/EPDCCH) corresponding to semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) activation. The PDCCH/EPDCCH conveys a value of nSCID. The UE configures, based on the SPS activation, a downlink (DL) assignment in a second subframe for receiving an SPS physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) without a corresponding PDCCH/EPDCCH. The UE determines a reference signal sequence corresponding to the SPS PDSCH using nSCID derived from the PDCCH/EPDCCH corresponding to the associated SPS activation. The UE receives the SPS PDSCH in a second subframe. The UE processes the SPS PDSCH based on the reference signal sequence for the SPS PDSCH in the second subframe using the nSCID derived from the PDCCH/EPDCCH corresponding to the associated SPS activation. The UE is configured for transmission mode 10 (TM10).

If a higher layer parameter altMCS-Table is configured, and a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) is assigned by a downlink control information (DCI) format 1, 1B, 1D, 2, 2A, 2B, 2C, or 2D, the UE may, for some subframe/frame configurations, determine a number of physical resource blocks (PRBs) for the transport block as a maximum of: 1; and a floor function applied to a product of a total number of allocated PRBs, a parameter dependent on a special subframe configuration, and a scaling parameter. For other subframe/frame configurations, the UE may determine the number of PRBs for the transport block as a maximum of: 1; and the floor function applied to a product of the total number of allocated PRBs and the scaling parameter.
