Abstract: Methods may comprise providing a cement dry blend comprising a plurality of cement particles and a plurality of inert microparticles, wherein the inert microparticles have an average diameter at least about 3 times smaller than that of the average diameter of the cement particles; mixing water, a set retarding additive, and the cement dry blend to yield a cement slurry; storing the cement slurry; mixing a cement set accelerator into the cement slurry; introducing the cement slurry into a wellbore penetrating a subterranean formation; and allowing the cement slurry to set at a location within the wellbore, the subterranean formation, or both.

Abstract: Disclosed are lost circulation treatment fluids and methods of sealing lost circulation zones. Embodiments include a method of sealing a lost circulation zone. The method comprises circulating a lost circulation treatment fluid in a wellbore, wherein the lost circulation treatment fluid comprises: pumice, hydrated lime, a set retarder, and water; and allowing the lost circulation treatment fluid to set in the lost circulation zone to seal the lost circulation zone.

Abstract: Methods and systems directed to controlling the rheology of settable compositions in subterranean formations. Embodiments include a method of controlling the rheology of a set-delayed cement composition, the method comprising: providing a set-delayed cement composition comprising water, pumice, hydrated lime, and a set retarder; shearing the set-delayed cement composition in an amount sufficient to substantially prevent solids settling; storing the set-delayed cement in a pumpable fluid state for at least 1 day; activating the set-delayed cement composition; introducing the set-delayed cement composition into a subterranean formation; and allowing the set-delayed cement composition to set in the subterranean formation. Additional methods and systems are also provided.
