본 발명은, 피치(p 1 )의 나선형으로 함께 권선된 직경(d 1 )의 3개의 코어 와이어(10)로부터 형성된 내부 층(Ci)과, 내부 층(Ci) 주위로 피치(p 2 )의 나선형으로 함께 권선된 직경(d 2 )의 N개의 와이어(N개는 6개 내지 12개로 다양함)(11)의 외부 층(Ce)을 포함하는, 부설 위치에 고무 도포된, 3+N 구조의 두 개의 층(Ci, Ce)으로 구성되는 금속 코드(C-1)이며, 상기 코드는 하기의 특징들(d 1 , d 2 , p 1 및 p 2 는 mm 단위)을 갖는 것을 특징으로 한다: - 0.20 1 - 0.20 2 - p 1 / p 2 ≤ 1; - 5 1 - 10 2 - 내부 층은, 적어도 2cm의 코드의 임의의 길이에 대해, 3개의 코어 와이어에 의해 형성된 중앙 채널(13)에 그리고 3개의 코어 와이어(10)들과 외부층(Ce)의 N개의 와이어(11) 사이에 있는 갭들 각각에 제공되는 "충전 고무"(12)라고 지칭되는 디엔 고무 조성물로 외장되고, - 코드 내의 충전 고무의 함유량은 코드의 g당 5와 30mg 사이이다.

타이어 등에 매설하여 보강재로서 사용하는 스틸코드의 중심부를 포함하는 코드 내부의 공극이 미가류 고무로 채워지도록, 단층구조의 스틸코드의 경우에는 복수 가닥의 스틸 필라멘트(115)의 필라멘트 주위에 미가류 고무를 피복한 후 꼬고, 또한 한번 꼰 2층 구조의 스틸코드의 경우에는 복수 가닥의 모든 코어 필라멘트(329)의 주위에 미가류 고무를 피복한 후, 외층 필라멘트(330)와 함께 동일 방향, 동일 피치로 꼬고, 2번 꼰 2층 구조의 스틸코드의 경우에는 2~4가닥의 모든 코어 필라멘트(218)의 주위에 미가류 고무를 피복하고, 또는 3~4가닥의 스틸 필라멘트(408, 408') 중의 일부에 미가류 고무를 피복하고 꼬아서 코어 스트랜드로 하고, 그 주위에 외층으로 되는 필라멘트(410, 410')를 꼰다. 그것에 의해 스틸코드로서 충분한 내부식성 및 내피로성을 발휘할 수 있고, 타이어 성형시 등의 가류시간을 단축하여 에너지 절약화를 달성할 수 있고, 스틸코드 자체의 수명 및 그것을 보강재로서 사용한 타이어 등의 수명을 연장하도록 할 수 있다. 또한, 저렴한 가격으로 제조할 수 있다.

PURPOSE: A steel cord for tire reinforcement and a pneumatic radial tire with the steel cord provides an extended life of a tire by improved duality and improved productivity by a simpler tire manufacturing process CONSTITUTION: A steel cord(1) for tire reinforcement and a pneumatic radial tire with the steel cord comprises of a first cord layer(2) to consist of 3 filaments(2a) and a second cord layer(3) to consist of 7 or 8 filaments(3a). In manufacturing of the steel cord(1), the first cord layer(2) is constructed by twisting 3 filaments(3a) first, and then the second cord layer(3) is constructed by twisting 7 or 8 filaments(3a). A twisting direction and period of the first and second cord layers(2,3) become identical to reduce the number of steps of the tire manufacturing for productivity. Also, the first and second cord layers(2,3) tightly contact with each other as a strong point contact. Therefore, a fretting fatigue is decreased so that the duality of the steel cord(1) and the pneumatic radial tire with the steel cord(1) is improved.

The present invention prevents core deformation at a time of mounting a tire on a rim while corrosion resistance and air-leak resistance are assured in a tire made with a inner molding process. A bead core comprises axially inner and outer core pieces, and a radially inner end part of a carcass ply is held therebetween. The axially inner and outer bead pieces are composed of a spiral-wound body in which a bead wire has been spirally wound and overlapped. The bead wire comprises a core part in which core strands have been twisted together and a sheath part in which sheath strands have been twisted together around the core part. The core strands and/or the sheath strands comprise an embossed strand. The twisting direction and twisting pitch (Pc) of the core strands are the same as the twisting direction and twitching pitch (Ps) of the sheath strands.

A bead core comprises axially inner and outer core pieces, and a radially inner end part of a carcass ply is held therebetween. The axially inner and outer bead pieces are composed of a spiral-wound body in which a bead wire has been spirally wound and overlapped. The bead wire comprises a core part in which core strands have been twisted together and a sheath part in which sheath strands have been twisted together around the core part. The core strands and/or the sheath strands comprise an embossed strand. Method of manufacturing a metal cord (C-1, C-2) with two concentric layers (Ci, Ce) of wires (11, 20, 17, 21) of M + N construction, comprising an inner layer or core (Ci) of M wires (11, 20), M varying from 1 to 4, and an outer layer (Ce) of N wires (17, 21), of the type "rubberized in situ", i.e. rubberized from the inside (22), during its actual manufacture, with rubber or a rubber composition, said method comprising at least the following steps: • - a step of sheathing the inner layer (Ci) with said rubber or said rubber composition, by passing through an extrusion head (15); • - a step of assembling the N wires of the outer layer (Ce) around the inner layer (Ci), in order to form the two-layer cord thus rubberized from the inside, said rubber is an unsaturated thermoplastic elastomer extruded in the molten state, preferably a thermoplastic elastomer of styrene type ("TPS") such as for example an SBS or SIS block copolymer.

The invention relates to a method for producing a multi-layer metal cord having multiple concentric layers of strands, comprising one or more inner layers and an outer layer, of the type that is "rubberised in situ", i.e. rubberised from the interior during the production thereof, using rubber or a rubber composition. The method includes at least the following steps: a step in which at least one inner layer is coated with the aforementioned rubber or rubber composition, by means of passage through at least one extrusion head; and a step in which the strands of the outer layer are assembled around the adjacent inner layer in order to form the multi-layer cable thus rubberised from the interior. The invention is characterised in that the rubber is a melt-extruded unsaturated thermoplastic elastomer, preferably a thermoplastic styrene (TPS) type elastomer, such as an SBS, SBBS, SIS or SBIS block copolymer.
