Abstract:
The present invention relates to a damping apparatus for moving furniture parts, for example doors, flaps or drawers. Such a damping apparatus of a compact construction which avoids a possible springing back movement of the furniture parts is provided in accordance with the invention in that the damping apparatus has at least two damping stages each having a cylinder having a piston longitudinally displaceable therein which exert a damping action of different strengths.
Abstract:
A self-restoration hinge structure is disclosed. The hinge comprises a self-restoration hinge having a linking plate, an internal linking plate, a peg nut and a magnet, characterized in that the linking plate is in combination with the L-shaped linking plate and an axle peg is used to mount the two linking plates at the axle mount thereof, the peg nut secures the axle peg within the axle mount of the two linking plates, the two linking plates are provided with a securing plate A and securing plate B and an extension plate A and extension plate B, the securing plates and the extension plates are mounted with a magnet and are installed on a door panel such that the door can be opened in a 90 degree position, the magnets having the same pole will repel each other and the magnets having different pole will attract each other, thereby when the door is pulled or pushed, the door shall be self-restored to its close position.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a hold-open apparatus for controlling the position of a door, preferably a screen door or storm door. The apparatus is used in conjunction with a piston assembly and can maintain a door in a predetermined open position, such as about 45° to about 100° in relation to a closed position. In a preferred embodiment, the apparatus can automatically lock and/or unlock when the door reaches predetermined positions. The apparatus advantageously can be retrofitted to existing door assemblies.
Abstract:
A drive assembly in a motorized door opener includes a motor that is mounted on a mounting structure. At least one vibration isolator is provided between the motor and the mounting structure. The vibration isolator includes a first mounting fastener configured to be mounted to a mounting fastener on the motor, a second mounting fastener configured to be mounted to the mounting structure to mount the motor on the mounting structure, and an elastomeric material between the first and second mounting fasteners. The elastomeric material lies between the first and second mounting fasteners so that the isolator's two mounting fasteners are not in physical contact.
Abstract:
A magnetic type floor hinge installed on a door, comprising an installing bracket, a moving plate, a compressing spring, a longitudinal hole in the moving plate, a main shaft cam in contact with the longitudinal hole. The main shaft cam is rotatably connected to a hinge shaft of the door and rotates with the hinge shaft. The magnetic type floor hinge further comprises at least one roller attached to the moving plate, a disk rotatably attached to the installing bracket, a yoke attached to the installing bracket and arranged around a magnetic operating part, and a gear-box comprising a plurality of gears that are connected between a rotating shaft of the main shaft cam and a rotating shaft of the disk. During operation of this magnetic type floor hinge, the rotating movement of the door hinge is converted to a rotating movement of the disk.

The present invention relates to a hold-open apparatus for controlling the position of a door, preferably a screen door or storm door. The apparatus is used in conjunction with a piston assembly and can maintain a door in a predetermined open position, such as about 45null to about 100null in relation to a closed position. In a preferred embodiment, the apparatus can automatically lock and/or unlock when the door reaches predetermined positions. The apparatus advantageously can be retrofitted to existing door assemblies.
Abstract:
An elevator door assembly includes a rail and at least one roller that rolls along the rail to move a door between opened and closed positions, for example. A resilient track is provided on the rail that facilitates more efficient roller movement and increases the longevity of the assembly. In one example, the resilient track includes several pieces of flexible material that are snapped in place onto the rail. In another example, the flexible track is supported on the rail using a spray coating technique.
Abstract:
The invention is in a device for monitoring the position of a swinging door that is mounted on a stationary frame, the device essentially comprises a magnet and magnetic proximity sensor which are mounted in coaxially aligned relation on a pair of opposing leafs of a hinge. Means are provided for moving the magnet to and from the sensor to correspondingly vary the gap or spacing between them.
Abstract:
A door seal for use with a bi-parting door in which the door panels of the door have supplementary angled leading edges. One leading edge has a triangular cross-section, while the other has a cross-section similar to a parallelogram. To further the reliability of the door seal, a plurality of magnets with corresponding magnet attracting plates may be attached along the leading edges. Alternatively, both leading edges may have at least one magnet aligned with a magnet on the other edge. With the double magnet configuration, the use of multi-pole magnets is necessary. The magnets also help reduce the bounce between the door panels, which may be closed roughly, and increase the force required to separate the door panels when closed.
Abstract:
A double-hinged device for a console box of an automobile whose lid can be opened or closed from either lateral side without using a lever or a similar tool. Since the device has a simple construction, it can be assembled easily and manufactured at a reduced cost. Two sets of a number of pivotal members 3 are removably arranged along the lateral edges of a console box main body 1 and two sets of the same number of connectors 4 are arranged at respective corresponding positions of a box lid 2 so that the pairs of pivotal members 3 and the connectors 4 can be releasably and mutually engaged to close the box lid by means of magnetic force or ball stoppers as they are placed in contact with each other. The box lid 2 can be opened simply by pulling upward either lateral edge of the box lid 2 as the pivotal members 3 and the connectors 4 arranged along that edge are mutually separated and the box lid 2 can be swung open around the other lateral edge.
