SOLUTION: A detonation generator 7A of the detonation generating device 1 includes a combustion cylinder 9A having a cylindrical composition of a coaxial multiple structure, a combustion cylinder base 8 having a fuel injection nozzle 12 for injecting fuel into a premixing chamber 11a formed on the combustion cylinder base 8 side of the combustion cylinder 9 and air injection holes 17a, 17b for supplying air to the injected fuel and stirring the fuel, air ejecting nozzles 25A, 25B which project in the premixing chamber 11a, eject air which is heat-exchanged and heated in the combustion cylinder 9A from a cooling air flow passage 24A, and induce a swirl flow of air-fuel mixture in the premixing chamber 11a, a combustion cylinder opening end part 10A provided on a combustion cylinder edge 9f side to form the throat part 29, and an igniter 21. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sterilization method and an apparatus therefor by which there is no harmful effect occurring at the time of using medicament and sufficient annihilation effect can be obtained even when legionella bacteria or the like are parasitic on bacteria predatory protozoa such as amoebas. SOLUTION: A whirling flow is produced in treating water and then an underwater shock wave is produced toward the whirling flow to annihilate bacteria in the treating water. The underwater shock wave contains a wave proceeding in a whirling direction of the whirling flow. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the efficiency of reaction with regard to a device that reacts reactive substances by subjecting the substances to shock heating by means of shock waves. SOLUTION: The shock reactor comprises: a gas receiving chamber 12A which receives the supply of gas as a pressure medium from the outer part; a converging chamber 16 which is communicated with the gas receiving chamber 12A via a switching means on the inlet opening 16A side and forms a flow path of converging toward the outlet opening 16B side; and a reacting chamber 41 which is communicated to the outlet opening side of the converging chamber 16 and has a supply port 42 for receiving the supply of the reactive substances from the outer part. In the shock reactor, the reactive substances in the reacting chamber suffers shock waves generated in the converging chamber 16 by the gas flowing-in from the gas receiving chamber 12A upon the opening of the switching means, is subjected to shock heating and is allowed to react. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen production method and apparatus which reduce energy loss and enable small-scale hydrogen production from digestion gas at low costs of operation and equipment. SOLUTION: The hydrogen production apparatus has a reaction chamber of a reactor 20 which contains a mixed gas of the digestion gas and steam, a digestion gas feeder 30 which feeds the digestion gas to the reaction chamber and a shock wave generator 40 which intermittently feeds high-pressure steam to the reaction chamber and generates shock wave of the high-pressure steam in the reaction chamber. The shock wave generator 40 transmits the shock wave to the reaction chamber, heats the mixed gas of the digestion gas and steam in the reaction chamber through shock compression and reacts methane and the steam in the mixed gas to generate a hydrogen-containing gas. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chemical reaction method by which chemical reaction requiring a high temperature can inexpensively be realized by using waste heat energy of a relatively low temperature exhausted from various heat processes, the starting and stopping of the apparatus can easily be performed, and running cost/equipment cost can be reduced, to provide a hydrogen production method using the method, to provide a chemical reaction apparatus, to provide a hydrogen production apparatus provided with the apparatus, and to provide a hydrogen supply plant. SOLUTION: The chemical reaction method comprises: a stage where a fluid is heated by heat exchange with a heat source 11, and high pressure gas under a pressure ≥5 times the pressure inside a reaction apparatus 1 before the reaction is made; a stage where the high pressure gas is instantaneously released inside the reaction apparatus 1 to generate shock waves; a stage where a raw material is supplied to the inside of the reaction apparatus 1 before the generation of the shock waves; and a stage where the raw material is subjected to shock compression by the generated shock waves, and is heated and brought into chemical reaction. The hydrogen production method uses the method. The chemical reaction apparatus realizes the above method. The hydrogen production apparatus is provided with the reaction apparatus.
