The present invention relates to an inter-layer prediction method of an image comprised of a plurality of layers including at least one temporal sub-layer. The inter-layer prediction method includes the steps of: acquiring information about a temporal sub-layer for inter-layer prediction; inducing a reference picture used for inter-layer prediction of a current picture on the basis of the information about the temporal sub-layer; and performing inter-layer prediction of the current picture on the basis of the reference picture.

According to an embodiment of the present invention, the video decoding method comprises the following steps: a step of determining the type of a filter determining the type of a filter applied to a first layer picture which a second layer picture, which is subjected to be decoded, refers to; a step of determining a subject of application for determining a subject of application in which the filter is applied in the first layer picture; a step of filtering a filtering subjected object based on the determined type of filter; and a step of adding the filtered first layer picture in a list of the second layer reference pictures. By this, the video decoding method and the device using the same is capable of reducing prediction errors in the upper layer and improving the decoding efficiency.

Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for an adaptive HTTP streaming service using metadata of content. The metadata includes a minimum buffer time attribute indicating a minimum amount of initially buffered media content. A terminal receives content from a server before playing the content, and buffers the content by at least the minimum amount. The metadata includes a range attribute designating a range of a target indicated by a URL. The terminal receives bytes designated by the range attribute from the URL, and plays the content using the received bytes.

본 발명은 다 계층 구조의 영상 부호화 및 복호화에 관한 기술로, 상위 계층을 부, 복호화 함에 있어 하위 계층의 정보를 이용하여 예측하고 부, 복호화 하는 방법에 관한 기술이다. 보다 상세하게, 하위 계층의 영상 샘플 값 및 움직임 정보들을 복호화하여 상위 계층의 영상 크기로 매핑을 수행한 후 상위 계층의 참조 픽처 리스트에 추가를 하여 현재 부, 복호화 대상 블록의 참조 픽처로 사용하여 부호화 효율을 향상시키는 이점이 있다.
