Abstract:
A lubricating composition having self oil-releasing properties comprising polypropylene having a low melt index and a synthetic lubricating oil based on one or more neopentylpolyol esters, the acid residues of which, on the average, have a relatively short chain, which composition can be shaped into and behaves as a mechanical component. A method for preparing lubricating compositions and for lubricating parts, e.g. bearings.
Abstract:
A precoat composition including a particulate vitreous material and a particulate lubricant material (graphite and or boron nitride) dispersed in an organic medium comprising a solution of a polymeric binder is applied to the workpiece, and the workpiece is heated to a temperature (1000 to 1400°F) sufficient to remove (538 to 760°C) the organic medium and leave a residue of vitreous material and lubricant material on the workpiece. The workpiece is then inserted in a heated split die at 1350 to 1750°F and the die loaded to alter the shape (752°C to 960°) of the workpiece. The ratio of the lubricant material to the vitreous material is at least 1:1 and the particle size of the lubricant material and the vitreous material is not more than 200 mesh (U.S. Series), this being important for the surface quality of the shaped workpiece.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a seamless pipe, capable of preventing a lateral broken flaw developed on the outer surface of a pipe top section, when performing hot extrusion using an extruded material low in deformation capability at a hot temperature. SOLUTION: The material to be extruded is heated to a temperature T [°C] satisfying a relationship of formula (1) or (2) in response to the outer diameter d 0 [mm] and hot-extruded through a solid lubricating glass provided between to a die and the material. In the case of d 0 0 /t)-10.135×In(d 0 /d), and in the case of d 0 ≥200, formula (2) is pressed by: T≤1,219+1.1487×A-7.838×In(t 0 /t)-10.135×In(d 0 /d), wherein A=L/V av ×1,000 [msec], V av =(V 0 +V 0 ×ρ)/2 [mm/sec], ρ=(t 0 ×(d 0 -t 0 ))/(t×(d-t)), t 0 represents the thickness [mm] of the extruded material, d represents the outer diameter [mm] of the extruded pipe, t represents the thickness [mm] of the outer diameter of the extruded pipe, L represents the length [mm] in the extruded direction of a die approaching section, and V 0 represents a ram speed [mm/sec]. Abstract:
The present invention relates to a low-friction member imitating shark skin and a manufacturing method therefor, the low-friction member implementing a structure similar to shark skin and having riblets by stacking, in layers, composite particles formed by attaching spherical particles on the surfaces of plate-shaped particles, and thus the low-friction member has excellent low-friction characteristics. The present invention comprises: a base plate; plate-shaped particles stacked in layers on the surface of the base plate in the form of scales; and a plurality of spherical metal lubricating particles having a size smaller than that of the plate-shaped particles, and coated on the surfaces of the plate-shaped particles, wherein the metal lubricating particles are arranged in the form of a bridge connecting the base plate and the plate-shaped particles, and the plate-shaped particles to each other.
