A method and apparatus is provided for remotely controlling a set of functions for a wireless audio system from a remote control. The method includes the steps of generating a digitally modulated pilot tone, and transmitting this pilot tone within a radio communication to a wireless receiver. The digitally modulated pilot tone carries data about a plurality of functions related to an audio source and its associated transmitter. The method further includes a step of receiving the data at a wireless receiver, augmenting it by information related to the wireless receiver, and communicating the resulting data via a communication network to a remote central control. The method further includes monitoring the resulting data at the remote central control, diagnosing detected problems associated with the wireless audio system, and communicating to the wireless audio system appropriate remedial action to alleviate the detected problems.

Wireless communication networks for monitoring and controlling a plurality of remote devices are provided. Briefly, one embodiment of a wireless communication network may comprise a plurality of wireless transceivers having unique identifiers. Each of the plurality of wireless transceivers may be configured to receive a sensor data signal from one of the plurality of remote devices and transmit an orginal data message using a predefined wireless communication protocol. The original data message may comprise the corresponding unique identifier and sensor data signal. Each of the plurality of wireless transceivers may be configured to receive the original data message transmitted by one of the other wireless transceivers and transmit a repeated data message using the predefined communication protocol. The repeated data message may include the sensor data signal and the corresponding unique identifier. Furthermore, at least one of the plurality of wireless transceivers may be further configured to provide the original data messages and the repeated data messages to a site controller connected to a wide area network. The site controller may be configured to manage communications between the wireless communication network and a host computer connected to the wide area network.

The invention refers to a data terminal activation and control device (16), a WAP server and a method for enabling a WAP radiotelephone terminal (20) to remotely activate and control a distant data terminal (14). The data terminal (14) is coupled to the activation and control device (16) by means of a data transmission network (26). The activation and control device (16) is coupled to the radiotelephone terminal (20) across a radiotelephone network (24). To permit to a user (18) of a WAP radiotelephone terminal (20) a convenient and powerful access to a data terminal (14) in order to activate and control the data terminal (14) it is suggested, to send a WAP message from the radiotelephone terminal (20) to the activation and control device (16) across the radiotelephone network (24) ; to convert the WAP message into a message that can be interpreted by the data terminal (14), and to send it to said data terminal (14) ; and to convert a message supplied by the data terminal (14) into a WAP message and to send it to the WAP radiotelephone terminal (20).

A system for providing remote driving by communication between a remote driving vehicle and a remote driving apparatus. The system executes selecting a communication line from a plurality of communication lines, transmitting time series data through the selected communication line between the remote driving vehicle and the remote driving apparatus, acquiring a communication environment information of the selected communication line, and switching the selected communication line based on the communication environment information. Wherein, the transmitting the time series data includes performing a transmission hold process when the selected communication line is switched, the transmission hold process being a process holding off start of transmitting the time series data through the selected communication line after switching until a delay time of the selected communication line before switching has elapsed from a time point of switching.

In accordance with various embodiments of the disclosed subject matter, a wireless voice transparent transmission apparatus and a related control terminal are provided. The wireless voice transparent transmission apparatus includes an input unit configured for collecting a voice command; a control unit connected to the input unit configured for acquiring an audio signal corresponding to the voice command collected by the input unit in real time; and a wireless transmission unit including a software access application programming interface (API) and a radio frequency (RF) module. The RF module is connected to the control unit, the software access API is configured for establishing a wireless network connection between the RF module and at least one wireless terminal, the RF module is configured for transmitting the audio signal acquired by the control unit to the at least one wireless terminal.

A control apparatus controls consumer equipment provided in a power consumer facility. The control apparatus comprises a controller configured to transmit, information indicating an operatable function capable of being operated by an operation apparatus operating the consumer equipment among a plurality of functions of the consumer equipment, to the operation apparatus, when the control apparatus is connected to the operation apparatus via a first network provided in the consumer facility. The controller is further configured to transmit a request message for requesting execution of a function designated from the operatable function to the consumer facility, when the control apparatus receives an operation instruction of the designated function of the operatable function from the operation apparatus. The controller is further configured to select the operatable function among the plurality of functions according to whether the operation apparatus is located outside the consumer facility.
