Abstract:
The present invention relates to a composition comprising a colored recycled polyethylene terephthalate (RPET) and an opacifying material. The composition can further comprise a virgin polyethylene terephthalate (PET), a high gas barrier or an oxygen scavenging compound. Suitable opacifying material, suitable high gas barrier polymer and suitable oxygen scavenging compound are disclosed herein. Other embodiments of the present invention include articles produced from these compositions and processes for producing these compositions.
Abstract:
A process for the separation of an alcohol from a non-polar solvent; a ketone from a non-polar solvent; an alcohol from a mixture of a ketone and a non-polar solvent; or a mixture of an alcohol and a ketone from a non-polar solvent; said process comprising contacting at least one ionic liquid with a mixture comprising a non-polar solvent and at least one of an alcohol and a ketone.
Abstract:
Apparatus, and the corresponding process, for HCN manufacture co,mprising a hollow cylindrically shaped porous catalyst (1) which is inductively heatable by an induction coil (3).
Abstract:
Polyurethaneurea compositions in the form of powders and dispersions are provided for enhancing properties of washed fabric including easy care, better iron gliding, improved shape retention, perfume substantiation and stain management properties.
Abstract:
Hydrocyanation reactions employing multidentate phosphite ligands and multidentate phosphite ligands are disclosed. The ligands have phenyl containing substituents attached to the ortho position of the terminal phenol group and/or attached to the ortho position of the bridging group. Catalyst compositions having such ligands achieve 97 % or greater distribution in hydrocyanation.
Abstract:
This invention relates to stretchable nonwoven sheets prepared by substantially uniformly impregnating a necked nonwoven substrate or an easily extensible as-made nonwoven substrate with an elastomeric polymer by treatment with an elastomeric polymer solution. The nonwoven sheet is useful in the manufacture of diapers and other hygiene articles. The nonwoven sheet is also useful in medical articles and applications.
Abstract:
Warp stretch woven fabrics including plain, twill and satin constructions are disclosed. The fabrics include weft yarns and warp yarns. About 15 weight percent to about 55 weight percent of the warp yarns are polyester bicomponent continuous filaments comprising poly(ethylene terephthalate) and poly(trimethylene terephthalate) having an after-heat-set crimp contraction value from about 20% to about 80%.
Abstract:
The invention provides polyurethaneurea compositions comprising poly(tetrarnethylene-co-ethyleneether) glycol having high number average molecular weight, from about 1900 to about 4000 Dalton. The invention further relates to the use of high number average molecular weight poly(tetramethylene-co-ethyleneether) glycol as the soft segment base material in spandex compositions. The invention also relates to new polyurethane compositions comprising poly(tetramethylene-co- ethyleneether) glycols with such high number average molecular weight, from about 1900 to about 4000 Dalton, and their use in spandex.
Abstract:
A process for making 3-aminopentanenitrile from a crude 2-pentenenitrile ('crude 2PN') comprising 2-pentenenitrile, 2-methyl-2-butenenitrile, and 2-methyl-3-butenenitrile includes contacting the crude 2PN with an ammonia-containing fluid and water. The ammonia-containing fluid can include at least one reactant selected from the group consisting of ammonia, aqueous ammonia, and ammonium hydroxide.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a stain and soil repellent composition for a carpet, especially from polyamide, wherein a first condensation product of hydroxyaromatic compounds and formaldehyde, which is free of sulphonic acid- and carboxyl- groups; and a second condensation product of hydroxyaromatic compounds and formaldehyde, which is at least partially sulphonated is applied to the carpet in a foam application process together with a fluorocarbon compound.
