Abstract:
Apparatus and methods for selective decoding of received code blocks are disclosed. An example method includes receiving a code block, determining a code block quality indicator for the received code block, and attempting to decode the received code block if the code block quality indicator is greater than or equal to a threshold. If the code block quality indicator is less than the threshold, the received code block is discarded without decoding attempts. The threshold may be a static or dynamic threshold.
Abstract:
An information detection method and apparatus for a High Speed Downlink Shared Control Channel (HS-SCCH) are provided by the present disclosure, implementing the detection of HS-SCCH part1 with low false alarm probability and low false dismissal probability under the arbitrary combination of User Identifiers (UEID). The method is that: rate de-matching the front detection signal of each HS-SCCH part1 in the terminal HS-SCCH monitor set, obtaining the corresponding rate de-matched information; removing the user mask for the rate de-matched information of each HS-SCCH monitor channel; Viterbi decoding each rate de-matched information of which the user mask is removed, obtaining Viterbi-decoding 0 state accumulated metric of each HS-SCCH in HS-SCCH monitor set, and summing the absolute value of the soft information of each HS-SCCH monitor channel respectively, with the soft information being obtained by removing the user mask; according to the Viterbi 0 state accumulated metric of each HS-SCCH and the sum of absolute values of the corresponding soft information, obtaining determination variables of each HS-SCCH; selecting the maximum from the determination variables of HS-SCCH, comparing the maximum with the preset threshold, and determining whether the HS-SCCH of this user is detected.
Abstract:
A method, system, network and device provide Smart Grid Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) detection. One or more symbols or chips present in one or more received radio frequency signals are detected and the presence of one or more erred symbols or chips in the detected one or more symbols present in the received one or more radio frequency signals determined. A correlation in time between the one or more erred symbols or chips and an infrastructure waveform associated with electrical infrastructure can be determined. When the determined correlation indicates the electrical infrastructure as a source of detectable radio frequency interference to a device, a pattern flag is generated. The pattern flag or pattern flag representation can be stored and/or transmitted.
Abstract:
Data error often occurs during the process of data transmission or storage. Typically, a store-and-forward data switch uses the frame check sequence portion of a data frame to detect for error that occurred during transit to the switch. However, error could be introduced into the data frame when it is in the memory of the data switch. A network switch capable of single-error correction and double-error detection is provided to further protect the data frame while it is in the switch.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a receiving apparatus including a first correlation value computation section, an operation section, a second correlation value computation section, a decoding section, and a determination section.
Abstract:
Apparatus, and an associated method, for determining whether to accept as valid a data segment, such as a radio block communicated pursuant to an EDGE communication session. A bit error rate measurer measures the bit error rate of a header part of a received radio block. The measured bit error rate is compared against a selected threshold. Results of the comparison are determinative of whether the radio block is accepted as valid or rejected as corrupted.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for decoding portions of a data stream, wherein each portion comprises a plurality of samples. The method comprises storing portions of the data stream, decoding portions of the data stream to form decoded portions, and storing the decoded portions. The method further comprises identifying that a portion of the data stream is degraded. Following identifying that a portion of the data stream is degraded, the method generates a decoded portion for the degraded portion of the data stream using the stored decoded portions. The method also updates a state of a decoder by: estimating a pitch period of the degraded portion; selecting a group of successive samples of the stored portions of the data stream, the group of successive samples offset from the degraded portion in the data stream by a multiple of the estimated pitch period; and decoding the selected samples at the decoder.
Abstract:
In a method of detecting whether a transmitted data frame is a discontinuous transmission (DTX) frame, a signal metric corresponding to the transmitted data frame is generated in a decoding operation used to decode the data frame from a signal carrying the frame that is received by a base station receiver. A signal energy of the transmitted data frame is determined based on the signal metric, and used for determining whether the transmitted data frame is a DTX frame.
Abstract:
Erasure detection and power control are performed for an intermittently active transport channel with unknown format. A receiver processes each received block and determines whether it passes or fails CRC. For each received block with CRC failure, the receiver performs erasure detection by computing a symbol error rate (SER) and energy of the received block, comparing the computed SER against an SER threshold, comparing the computed energy against an energy threshold, and declaring an erasure if the computed SER is less than the SER threshold and the computed energy exceeds the energy threshold. The SER and energy thresholds may be adjusted based on the average SER and the average energy for prior received blocks with CRC failures. For power control, an SIR target is increased by an UP step whenever an erased block is detected for the transport channel.
Abstract:
A user equipment (UE) operating in a wireless network receives a sequence of speech frames on a speech channel. The UE demodulates at least a portion of a speech frame of the sequence of received speech frames to produce a metric value. The UE discontinues processing of the speech frame and enters a low power discontinuous reception (DRX) mode if the metric value indicates absence of valid speech data, and ignores and does not demodulate at least the next remaining bursts of the speech frame after entering DRX mode.
