Abstract:
A pillow (10) includes an upper surface (16), a lower surface (18) and side edges (12, 14) wherein the upper surface (16) includes a raised edge (20, 21) proximate the upper and lower edges of the upper surface (16). The upper surface (16) includes at least one cut out (24) through either the raised edge (20 or 21) proximate the upper or lower edge that is configured to support the user's neck in an anatomically correct position. A recessed surface (22) in the upper surface (16) for supporting the back surface of the user's neck and cranium and the sides of the user's head extends from proximate a left edge (12) to proximate a right edge (14) and is in communication with the at least one cut out (24). The pillow (10) is of a sufficient height to extend from the user's neck to above the user's ears and face. The pillow (10) includes at least one internal armature (40, 42) that is flexible and bendable such that the pillow (10) can be manipulated into a selected configuration with manual force. The armature (40, 42) is sufficiently strong while being malleable such that the pillow (10) can be configured from a substantially flat configuration and into a substantially "U" shape where left and right edges (12, 14) are in front of the user's face. In the "U" shaped configuration, the user can roll from side to side while the pillow (10) remains in direct contact and rolls uniformly with the user's head maintaining support for both the neck and head and thereby provide a more comfortable rest or sleep.

Abstract:
The disclosed embodiments include coolant compositions, packages of such compositions, and articles of manufacture derived from coolant compositions. According to one embodiment disclosed a liquid coolant composition is disclosed that comprises: (a) glycerol, (b) an aqueous solution of menthol, (c) calcium hydroxide, (d) barium hydroxide, and (e) water. According to another embodiment, a gel coolant composition is disclosed that comprises: (a) glycerol, (b) an aqueous solution of menthol, (c) calcium hydroxide, (d) barium hydroxide, (e) water, and (f) sodium polyacrylate. Such gel coolant composition can be converted to solid form by adding paraffin.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a pillow-type massage device for massaging acupuncture points of the body, comprising: a main body, the interior of which has a space, and in the center of a surface of which plurality of first through-holes corresponding to the acupuncture points of the occipital area of a user are formed; a first massage plate which is arranged in the space of the main body, and which has equally-spaced first massage protrusions which are movable between a retracted position and an extended position through the respective first through-holes; first elevating means arranged in the space of the main body to elevate the first massage plate such that the first massage protrusions move between the retracted position and the extended position through the respective first through-holes; a controller for controlling the first elevating means; and power supply means for supplying power for driving the controller. The massage device of the present invention effectively massages acupuncture points of the head of the user to promote blood circulation and fatigue relief. The massage device of the present invention has a blower fan for circulating external air through the inside of the massage device, and thus enables users to have a sound sleep. The blower fan discharges, through the upper surface of the massage device, air introduced into the massage device, to enable users to feel refreshed and to have a sound sleep.
Abstract:
A cooling pillow capable of being prepared easily for the use thereof, maintaining the cooling capability for a long period of time, changing the water without taking much labor, and being effective when it is used at a bad summer night and when the user has the fever; cooling clothes consuming a low electric power, having a simple structure, and capable of avoiding the heat, and allowing the user to spend a pleasant time even in a high-temperature environment; and a cooling helmet capable of eliminating the unpleasantness due to the heat, preventing exhaustion of the physical strength, and decrease of the attentiveness and working efficiency, and capable of improving the safety of work. The cooling pillow, cooling clothes and cooling helmet are all based on the principle that the air is made to flow in close contact with the fibrous material being in the vicinity of the body of the user and containing a sufficient amount of water, vaporization of water is promoted, and the head or trunk is cooled by absorbing the heat of vaporization. These inventions therefore have an air sending fan, a flow passage through which the air is made to flow, and a vaporization sheet forming the flow passage and containing water.
Abstract:
In a preferred embodiment of the invention there is provided a support means (2) in the form of a pillow or mattress having a passageway (4) extending through its interior, the passageway (4) having an inlet end (5) and an outlet end (6), the outlet end (6) of the passageway (4) terminating in the exterior surface (8) of the pillow (2). Fluid is delivered preferably by an apparatus (3) which pumps fluid through the passageway (4) to a user adjacent the outlet end (6) of the passageway (4).
Abstract:
A pillow is provided that includes a back section having opposite front and back surfaces that each extend between opposite top and bottom surfaces. The surfaces each extend between opposite first and second side surfaces. The pillow includes spaced apart first and second arms that each extend outwardly from the front surface. The first arm has an inner surface and an opposite outer surface that is continuous with the first side surface. The second arm has an inner surface and an opposite outer surface that is continuous with the second side surface. The inner surfaces are continuous with the front surface. The top surface and the side surfaces each include a first portion comprising a first material and a second portion comprising a second material that is different from the first material.
Abstract:
