Abstract:
There is provided a one-part, moisture curable coating composition comprising: a silyl terminated polymer, wherein the silyl terminated polymer is polyoxyalkylene polymer having at least one end group derived from an alkoxy silane, and a polyether plasticizer, and further the polyether plasticizer has a number average molecular weight between 300 g/mol to 600 g/mol. There are also provided articles and films made using and methods for using these coating compositions.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a coating composition, such as a substantially clear coating composition, which comprises (1) an alkoxysilane, (2) a polysiloxane, (3) a plurality of particles, and (4) curing agent that is reactive with the polysiloxane. The coating composition of the present invention can exhibit increased physical properties, such as scratch resistance, when compared to similar coating compositions that lack the components disclosed herein.
Abstract:
The invention relates to coating for lamps, comprising a network obtainable by conversion of an organically modified silane by means of a sol-gel process. The invention also relates to a lamp comprising a vessel or a bulb, wherein said vessel or said bulb is at least partly provided with such a coating. The invention further relates to an electronic device comprising at least one such lamp. Moreover, the invention relates to a method for the preparation of a coating according to the invention.
Abstract:
A method and a coating on a tampon applicator. The coating includes a crosslinked hydrogel that includes a copolymer including water soluble base polymers having graft polymerized thereto organic moieties that react with water to form a silanol group. The copolymer is crosslinked through the silanol groups of the organic moieties to form a coating that is absorbent, lubricious and substantially non-water soluble.
Abstract:
A film-forming composition, typically a topcoat, having improved adhesion to certain commercially available adhesives. The composition includes a curable film-forming polymer, typically an acrylic and/or a polyester polymer, with carbamate and/or urea groups. The composition further includes a material containing one or more hydrolyzable silyl groups. The hydrolyzable silyl group-containing material optionally can be a polymeric or oligomeric. Also disclosed are a method of applying the above described film-forming composition to a substrate and the coated article prepared by such a method.
