Abstract:
The present invention relates to a home-bar door opening/closing device for a refrigerator. According to the present invention, guide slots 72 are provided in both side surfaces of an opening 59 provided in a refrigerator door 55 and connected to one ends of links 75 which rotate and vertically move. Then, a home-bar door 63 is installed in the opening 59 so that an upper end of the home-bar door 63 vertically rotates about a hinge 65. The other ends of the links 75 are pivotably connected to both side surfaces of the home-bar door 63, respectively. An upward elastic force from coil springs 77 is provided to the one ends of the links 75, while an elastic force from torsion springs 79 is provided to the other ends of the links 75. According to the present invention so constructed, it is possible to reduce the impact due to the rapid opening of the home-bar door.
Abstract:
A door stop is provided comprising a first vertical plate for mounting to a wall and second horizontal pivot plate affixed to and extending outwardly from the wall-mounting plate. A third elongated member is pivotally mounted at its inner end to the pivot plate and at its outer end extends outwardly to a normal position perpendicular to the wall for making contact with a swinging door. A means is associated with the pivot plate for releaseably locking the third member in its normal position. In use, the door stop remains in its normal position until the elongated tube is struck by an object, such as a vacuum cleaner or mop. The impact releases the third member from its locked position and allows it to swing about its pivot point on the pivot plate to an out of the way position substantially parallel to the wall.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a damping apparatus for moving furniture parts, for example doors, flaps or drawers. Such a damping apparatus of a compact construction which avoids a possible springing back movement of the furniture parts is provided in accordance with the invention in that the damping apparatus has at least two damping stages each having a cylinder having a piston longitudinally displaceable therein which exert a damping action of different strengths.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a speed regulator for an automatically closing slide door for regulating a closing speed of an automatically closing slide door which is closed automatically, comprising; a generator associated with said slide door; an one-way clutch means for converting a linear movement caused during a closing motion of said slide door into a rotational movement and for transmitting said rotational movement to said generator; a resistor connected to an output of said generator; and a speed change means for changing said closing speed of said slide door, at a predetermined position before the closed position of said slide door, from a first predetermined speed to a second predetermined speed slower than said first predetermined speed by changing a resistance value of said resistor.
Abstract:
A retarding device insertable between two members connected to rotate relatively about a hinge axis, and which opposes and so retards such rotation in predetermined manner; the device having: a substantially cylindrical support carried integrally by a first of the rotationally connected members and substantially coaxial with the hinge axis; a coil, spring fitted interferentially to the support and terminating with two opposite radial arms projecting towards a second of said members connected to each other for relative rotation; and a retaining seat carried integrally by the second member and on which the arms of the spring rest, on opposite sides, and are stressed by the second member, as a consequence of the aforementioned relative rotation, to deform the spring in such a direction as to progressively reduce and, beyond a certain point of the moving path of the other member, substantially eliminate, the interference with which the spring is fitted to the support. The rotation of the rotationally connected members is broken in a predetermined manner.
Abstract:
A doorknob comprises a hollow plastic member having one end fixed to a wall, and the other end open to outside, the hollow member including a plurality of elongate gaps equally spaced on a surface each extended from the open end to a predetermined position thereon and a neck adjacent the open end, wherein the open end of the hollow member and the neck will expand laterally until the doorknob being inserted into the hollow member.
Abstract:
A braking- and damping device, in particular for movable pieces of furniture, having a fluid-cylinder (1) in which two pistons (2, 5) are arranged in linearly displaceable manner. A piston (2) is displaceable over a piston rod (3). Arranged between the two pistons (2, 5) is an elastically deformable sealing member, which, when damping occurs, is deformed by being squeezed between the two pistons (2, 5) and pressed against the cylinder wall (7).
Abstract:
A hinge and linkage system comprises a four-link system wherein first and second links are respectively connected to vehicle body and closure members, and an additional pair of links interconnect the first and second links. An expansible gas strut also interconnects the first and second links. In accordance with the invention, an expansible spring-biased plunger mechanism is mounted upon one of the additional links so as to operatively engage and be axially compressed by the second link and the closure member when the closure member is disposed at its latched position. When the closure member is unlatched, the spring-biased plunger mechanism initially partially elevates the closure member toward its open position whereupon the expansible gas strut can continue the elevational movement of the closure toward its open position.
Abstract:
An apparatus for the damping of impacts, preferably the impacts of furniture doors or drawers, consists of a cylinder with a piston whose piston rod sealingly guided out of a cylinder side forms a ram absorbing the impacts which divides the cylinder space filled with a liquid into two chambers and has perforations and/or, together with the cylinder wall, bounds a passage gap. A guide bushing guiding the piston rod is arranged in the region of the discharge end of the cylinder. A compression spring is clamped between the piston and the cylinder bottom. To ensure a smooth and quiet running with a compact construction, the guide bushing has a central shaft part of reduced diameter. A widened end part of the guide bushing is supported on a step or annular flange constricting the inner diameter of the cylinder and the guide bushing is supported at the other end on a cover closing the cylinder. The shaft part of the guide bushing is encompassed by a tube-section-like part made of elastic material.
Abstract:
