The self-closing and opening device (1) particularly of a movable furniture part (103) comprises a fixed guide (8) having a supporting body (2) in which a first slider (3) can slide reversibly along a sliding axis (100) in opposition to and through the action of first elastic means (5), the first slider (3) being engageable with first driving means (106) present on a driving element (6) which slides reversibly in the direction of the sliding axis (100), the supporting body (2) comprising first movement means (4) for movement of the first slider (3) suitable to engage with guide means (12, 13) of the first slider (3), so as to release it from the driving means (106), also provided with a mechanical or elastically yielding stop (9, 120) against which the first slider (3) rests directly or indirectly before it engages with the guide means (12,13) in the first movement means (4) the driving element (6) being then pushed by an ejector (20) generating an initial opening movement of said movable furniture part (103).

A hinge assembly for use with a pivotally movable closure panel is operable to provide a counterbalancing force to lock or hold the closure panel in an open configuration against a predetermined threshold closure force without the need of separate support components such as gas-charged struts or prop rod. The hinge assembly is provided with upper and lower hinge arms which are pivotally connected towards their rearward ends for movement relative to each other for pivotal movement about a hinge pivot axis. A generally elongated or guide slot is formed in the lower hinge arm. A prop arm is pivotally secured at a first end to a forward portion of the upper hinge arm forwardly from the hinge pivot axis. A sliding member is secured toward the second other end of the prop arm and engages the guide slot so as to be reciprocally movable therealong as the hinge arms are moved between a fully closed and fully open positions. The guide slot includes an operational section and an engaged section. A resilient biasing member is used to engage and bias the sliding member forwardly relative to the guide slot as it moves through the engaged section while disengaging from or passively engaging the sliding member as it moves along the operational section of the guide slot.

To provide a vehicle door opening/closing device arranged to pivotally connect a vehicle body and a door with a hinge member and provided with a damper arranged to impart a braking force to the door when the door is turned, the damper being directly connected to the hinge member, the hinge member 10 includes a first hinge arm 11 fixed to a floor 60, a pin shaft 15 fixed to the first hinge arm 11 and extending outward of the first hinge arm 11, and a second hinge arm 13 pivotally mounted on the pin shaft 15 and fixed to a lower end of a lower door 41, and the damper 20 includes a rotor 21 connected to a projecting portion 159 of the pin shaft 15, a housing 23 rotatably mounted on the rotor 21 and fixed to the lower door 41, and a braking means 29 contained in the housing 23 to impart a braking force to the housing 23 when the housing 23 is rotated relative to the rotor 21.

The invention relates to an inlet brake for a rear opening hood of a motor vehicle and a rear opening hood opening device, said inlet break being designed for braking the opening movement of the rear opening hood once it has reached its open position, wherein a tube-shaped hinge clamp (3) of the rear opening hood is slowed down in a substantially U-shaped receiving element (4) by means of a clamping effect and is prevented from springing back, wherein the receiving element (4) is provided with conical, lateral brake cheeks (5) having a continuos conicity in the direction of opening so that a narrowing, clamping receiving element is formed.

Disclosed is a hinge (10) for a vehicle lid, the hinge comprising a main biasing means operable to urge the hinge into an open position, and a mechanism (40, 24, 48, 22, 32, 38) for assisting the initial opening of the hinge from a closed position, the mechanism comprising a rotary cam (22) engageable with another portion (38) of the hinge to provide said assistance, and further biasing means (24) which acts on the cam to rotate it relative to said other portion of the hinge. Also disclosed is a lifting aid comprising a main biasing means for attachment between a lid and a body, which lid is pivotally moveable towards and away from the body, the main biasing means being operable to urge the lid from a closed position relative to the body to an open position, the lifting aid further comprising cam means attachable to the body for relative rotation thereto and further biasing means for attachment between the body and the cam means and operable to rotate the cam means relative to the body and lid, the cam means being operable to assist the initial opening of the lid.

Provided is a retracting device in which dampers have improved durability and strokes of operation of the dampers are not reduced. A first slider 14-1 for assisting closing, a second slider 14-2 for assisting opening, and a damper base 22 are provided in an elongating base 12 to be slidable in a longitudinal direction of the base 12. The damper base 22 is disposed between the first slider 14-1 and the second slider 14-2. A first damper 24 is provided over between the first slider 14-1 and the damper base 22 and a second damper 25 is provided over between the second slider 14-2 and the damper base 22.
