Abstract:
An exchange of initiation messages, requests and responses, are required for the setup of a digital communication session. The invention provides a method of using the requests and responses to provide courteous and detailed information about the purpose and reason of the requests and the responses. Thus, the parties to the communication session are provided with information for making an informed decision about future communication. The messages may be generated using the SIP protocol and the additional information regarding the purpose and the reason may be provided in a header field of the SIP message. The reasons can be entered by a user using a visual, haptic or audio interface at the time of the request or response, such that the reasons can be tailored to be suitable for the particular situation in which the request or response is made.
Abstract:
A flexible service management system creates, provisions, customizes, and restricts service offerings available on an intelligent network. A service creation environment has a schema query, service screen builder, and logic analyzer that cooperate to create a service screen definition. The service screen definition supports graphical user interfaces that interface with a telephony database. The service screen definition is deployed to a service management system within a service definition package, the service management system interfacing with a telephony database storing telephony data for supporting a service. The service screen definition enables a screen interpreter that can reside on a service management access point to communicate and transact data with the telephony database. The screen interpreter interprets the service screen definition to allow and control access to telephony data and to direct provisioning of services to network elements, such as a service control point, that perform service functions according to customized subscription data in the telephony database. The graphical user interface can communicate through the world wide web to allow customer or other data entry operator access to data on a filtered or restricted basis.
Abstract:
A system for routing an interaction request based on skill presence reporting has a routing application for determining best routing for the interaction request, a data store for storing and reporting skills data, and an object-oriented interface for presenting skills views including state information of those skills. The system is characterized in that it determines any skills requirements of the interaction request to be routed and discovers which skills of considered routing destinations are available at the time of routing, and routes the interaction according to the available skills discovered and matching the skills requirement, the available skills intrinsic to one or more than one routing destination selected to process the interaction.
Abstract:
Initiating a conference call using a call waiting graphical user interface includes receiving an indication that an incoming telephone call is directed to a telephone number and identifying an account associated with the telephone number to which the incoming call is directed. Configuration data related to the account is accessed. A first online identity (165) and a second online identity (170) associated with the account are identified based on the configuration data accessed. A first electronic communication is sent to the fist online identity (165) and a second electronic communication is sent to the second online identity (170). The first online identity (165) can respond to the fist electronic communication and the second online identity (170) can respond to the second electronic communication. A conference call between a caller (110) associated with the incoming telephone call and the fist and second online identities (165, 170) is initiated conditioned on whether the responses by the first and second online identities (165, 170) indicate that both the first and second online identities (165, 170) wish to take the call.
Abstract:
A system for use in developing a voice application, including a dialog element selector for defining execution paths of the application by selecting dialog elements and adding the dialog elements to a tree structure, each path through the tree structure representing one of the execution paths, a dialog element generator for generating the dialog elements on the basis of predetermined templates and properties of the dialog elements, the properties received from a user of the system, each of said dialog elements corresponding to at least one voice language template, and a code generator for generating at least one voice language module for the application on the basis of said at least one voice language template and said properties. The voice language templates include VoiceXML elements, and the dialog elements can be regenerated from the voice language module. The voice language module can be used to provide the voice application for an IVR.
Abstract:
Abstract:
In one illustrative example disclosed, a mobile communication device includes a user interface, a processor, and a wireless transmitter. The user interface includes, among other things, a visual display which is part of a graphical user interface (GUI). For configuring a voice mailbox at a remote voicemail system, the GUI visually displays a user input prompt for voice mailbox configuration information which corresponds to an audible user input prompt provided by the voicemail system. The user input prompt may be, for example, a prompt for a user password, an audible voicemail greeting, or an audible user name for the voice mailbox. Through the user interface, the voice mailbox configuration is received by the processor in response to the user input prompt and transmitted to the voicemail system by the wireless transmitter. Advantageously, the mobile device provides a consistent user-friendly GUI for voice mailbox configuration as well as for its primary applications.
