Abstract:
A method for injection molding of thermoplastic pole parts utilizes a mold to fix at least one vacuum interrupter and contact terminals during a molding process. At least one injection opening or gate for injection of thermoplastic material is formed into the mold. The mold is applied with multiple injection openings at least along its long axis, for injection of hot thermoplastic material, and the injection openings or gates can be steered in such a way that they inject thermoplastic material simultaneously or with a defined time dependent injection pattern. This process alleviates the issue of a pressure gradient along the long axis of the molded pole part, shortens process times, and achieves a homogenous dissipation of material during the molding process.
Abstract:
A microgrid includes a plurality of distributed energy resources such as controllable distributed electric generators and electrical energy storage devices. A method of controlling operation of the microgrid includes periodically updating a distributed energy resource schedule for the microgrid that includes on/off status of the controllable distributed electric generators and charging/discharging status and rate of the electrical energy storage devices and which satisfies a first control objective for a defined time window, based at least in part on a renewable energy generation and load forecast for the microgrid. The method further includes periodically determining power set points for the controllable distributed energy resources which satisfy a second control objective for a present time interval within the defined time window, the second control objective being a function of at least the distributed energy resource schedule for the microgrid.
Abstract:
An exemplary method for calibrating a current transducer of the Rogowski type including a Rogowski coil sensor and an electronic device is performed by determining and correcting the sensitivity of the current transducer of the Rogowski type through the measurement of the self-inductance LRCCT of the coil using the electronic device.
Abstract:
An exemplary field device connection unit includes a base plate on which a plurality of connection elements for connection of connecting lines with field devices and a plurality of module slots for receiving in each case one plug-in unit of different plug-in unit types. To avoid erroneous configurations, an identical type coding is assigned to the plug-in units of the same plug-in unit type, which identical type coding is formed by a plurality of wedge-shaped code elements which are anchored rigidly in the plug-in unit, and a plurality of wedge-shaped code elements are assigned to each module slot, which wedge-shaped code elements are mounted moveably about a rotary spindle between two opposite stops and whose wedge tips are oriented, in an initial rest position, centrally between the stops.
Abstract:
A three-phase non-linear transformer is cooled by first (30) and second fans (40). The first fan (30) is attached to the first core clamps (12) of the transformer using a first mounting structure (15). The second fan (40) is attached to the second core clamps (24) of the transformer using a second mounting structure (17). The first fan is positioned first so that air is directed toward a central passage of the core. The second fan is positioned so that air is drawn through the central passage of the core. The first fan circulates air through a central passage in the transformer core and channels that exist between adjacent coil assemblies. The second fan draws air through the central passage and channels and further expels the air into the surrounding environment. The first and second fans are controlled by a control panel through which they are run automatically or manually.
Abstract:
A device for detecting an islanding condition in an electricity distribution network. The device comprises means for concurrently monitoring an islanding condition and a network event condition in the electricity distribution network, means for detecting an islanding condition in the power system network, and means for determining on the validity of detection of the islanding condition based on whether there is an associated network event with the detected islanding condition.
Abstract:
A layer structure for producing a planar insulation laminate, including the following sequence of planar individual layers arranged one on the other: a B-stage resin, a glass fabric, a core layer made of polyester film, a glass fabric, and a B-stage resin. In the hardened state, an insulation material produced therefrom is suitable, for example, to be used as an insulation barrier between a low-voltage winding and a high-voltage winding of a transformer winding.
Abstract:
A method provides a medium voltage radial drop winding for an open wound transformers. The method arranges a plurality of non-electrically conductive supports to extend outwardly from a periphery of an imaginary geometric shape so as to define an interior space. Each support includes a pair of opposing legs disposed in spaced relation and a bottom leg coupling the opposing legs to define at least one elongated slot between the opposing legs. Each slot has an open end. Conductive wire is dropped into the open end of each of the slots to substantially fill the slots and define at least one generally cylindrical winding segment carried by the supports.
Abstract:
A process automation system includes at least one wireless-aware component for detection of the occurrence (e.g., start and end) of a wireless volume data transfer from at least one other component which might be a wireless-unaware component. Upon such detection, the at least one wireless-aware component requests for bandwidth on behalf of the wireless-unaware component to decrease the communication time and subsequently releases this bandwidth again. A method is provided for operation of the process automation system, in which an upload/download is generally detected by either explicit initiation of the upload/download in the wireless-aware component, or by automatic detection in the wireless-aware component.
Abstract:
A system and method are disclosed for automated handling of at least one working step of a workflow in an automation and/or electrical engineering project via a data input interface, a processing unit and a data output interface connected to the processing unit for transmitting any data read in by the data input interface or generated by the processing unit to at least one of a data repository, another processing unit and/or a display unit. The data input interface can read in input values belonging to the at least one working step of the workflow, and an input uncertainty including a range of input values. The processing unit can generate an output value of the working step from the input value, and calculate an output uncertainty characterizing a range of the output value, by taking into account a parameter and/or a technical condition of the working step.
