Abstract:
A nutrient composition for enhancing biogenic methane production from a carbonaceous material is described. The nutrient composition comprises a source of phosphorus (P) and a source of nitrogen (N), wherein the molar ratio of phosphorus to nitrogen (P/N) is greater than 1.5, and the nitrogen concentration is at least 0.1 m M and less than 1.7 m M. A process for enhancing biogenic methane production from a carbonaceous material is also described. The process involves contacting the nutrient composition of the invention with the carbonaceous material for a period of time to biogenically produce methane and subsequently collecting methane from the carbonaceous material. The process may further comprise contacting the carbonaceous material with a second nutrient composition, wherein the second nutrient composition has a P/N molar ratio greater than the P/N molar ratio of the former nutrient composition.
Abstract:
A computer-implemented system for the retrieval and manipulation of information available via an information network includes an information retrieval and processing component. The information retrieval and processing component includes: (a) search query means for conducting a search of the information network to obtain references to the information relevant to a search query; (b) information retrieval means for retrieving information available from sources on the information network, and an information store, for storage of retrieved information; and (c) processing means for processing of information retrieved from sources on the information network, and of information stored in the information store, to produce corresponding processed information. The system includes a cell-based user interface, and an intermediate storage layer, which permits a user, who may be unfamiliar with sophisticated computer programming languages, to develop automated processes for information transfer and manipulation based on present and historical information available via the information network.

Disclosed is a transmitter for a communication system. The transmitter comprises a sidelobe suppression module configured to apply a suppression matrix to an input vector comprising symbols to be transmitted by the transmitter; a modulation module configured to modulate the precoded vector to a time-domain symbol using a plurality of subcarriers, each symbol in the precoded vector having a corresponding subcarrier; and a digital-to-analog conversion module configured to convert the time-domain symbol to an analog waveform for transmission. The suppression matrix is constructed such that emissions at one or more predetermined suppression distances lying outside a frequency band defined by the subcarriers are set to zero according to a predetermined emission model.
