Abstract: The invention relates to a flame retardant (meth)acrylate composition combining an impact-resistant (meth)acrylic polymer (such as Solarkote® resin from Trinseo) with specific levels of selected organic phosphinate and selected organic phosphorous flame retardants. The composition is halogen free, with superior flame performance, flowability and impact resistance. The composition of the invention is melt-processible and can be co-extruded with a thermoplastic substrate material to obtain a multilayer structure, having a tough, impact resistant cap layer(s). The obtained multilayer structure can be further thermoformed into useful profiles and structures, such as the exterior housing of EV charging stations and car wash stations, automotive applications, aerospace, and building and construction applications.

Abstract: Provided herein are thioacetate isobutylene-based polymer compositions comprising thioalkylated functionalized polymer, and a sulfur donor and/or accelerator cure system. The thioalkylated functionalized polymer is produced via nucleophilic substitution reaction in solution. The present thioacetate functionalized isobutylene-based polymer compositions together with various accelerators and sulfur donors can form thermosets useful for pharmaceutical and tire applications without the use of zinc or a zinc oxide activator.

Abstract: An uncured or partially cured, flexible fusion bonded epoxy (“FBE”) film for application to a metal substrate, such as an oil and gas pipeline pipe and pipeline pipe weld areas includes an epoxy resin, a curing agent, accelerator, filler, and optional additives. The epoxy can include a blend of solid epoxy resin and liquid epoxy resin. Also included are methods of applying the FBE film to pipe in the shop and on field joints. Methods also include using a flexible, electric heat blanket or heat belt to cure FBE film and epoxy liquid coatings on field joints.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods for improving the rolling resistance of a tire rubber composition by providing a rubber composition including a rubber component which includes a majority by weight of guayule rubber where the guayule rubber includes a bagasse component, and a filler component where the filler component is free of silica, and including at least one silane in the rubber composition, where the at least one silane is selected from the group consisting of mercaptosilanes, blocked mercaptosilanes, and alkoxysilanes. Abstract: Liquid radiation curable compositions are disclosed which are suitable for hybrid (i.e. cationic and free-radical) polymerization when processed via additive fabrication equipment utilizing sources of actinic radiation with peak spectral intensities in the UV/vis region. According to one aspect, the compositions possess a first photoinitiator that is an iodonium salt of a non-fluorinated borate anion. According to another aspect, the composition is substantially devoid of a Norrish Type I and/or Type II photoinitiator. Also disclosed are methods of creating three-dimensional parts via additive fabrication processes utilizing sources of actinic radiation with peak spectral intensities in the UV/vis region employing liquid radiation curable compositions suitable for hybrid polymerization, and the parts cured therefrom.
