    Abstract: Flame retardant polymeric compositions prepared from a blend of low density polyethylene and ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer and containing a halogen-containing fire retardant and an antimony compound; wherein the amount of antimony compound ranges from about 20 to 35% by weight, based on the total weight of the flame retardant composition and the weight ratio of the halogencontaining fire retardant to the antimony compound is less than about 1 to 1.
