Abstract:
Systems and methods for treating water passing through a catch basin may include first and second filters. In some embodiments, the filters each have a plurality of regions with different nominal flow rates.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method of installing an environmental control system so as to allow for separate sizing of treatment and bypass capacity while also offering the ability to make or change either treatment or bypass capacities at different times. This is accomplished by containing the treatment and bypass functions in separate chambers, using screen, baffle, or coalescing media pack to further refine effectiveness and capacity of each structure independently. The control structure and interceptor structure may be pre-engineered to a variety of sizes, capacities, or other specifications. This allows simple selection of a specific control structure and a specific interceptor structure from a variety of combinations, eliminating the need for custom engineering for each installation.
Abstract:
A hydrodynamic gravitational separator and an attending drainwater filtration section positionable within a horizontal flow passage of a drainage system utilizes a circular-walled collection cavity into which drainwater is directed so that a swirling motion is imparted to the drainwater collected within the collection cavity. Furthermore, a baffle plate is supported within the collection cavity adjacent the exit opening thereof to isolate the exit opening from the swirling motion of the drainwater collected within the cavity. The filtration section includes a filter disposed downstream of the exit opening of the collection cavity so that drainwater which exits the collection cavity is subsequently routed through the filter.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an apparatus for early rainwater purification, comprising: a precipitation tank, an inlet filtering layer, a buffering tank, a downflow filtering tank, a porous pipe, and a vertical pipe, all arranged within a rectangular housing made of concrete. In the apparatus for early rainwater purification of the present invention, early rainwater filling the buffering tank passes through a screen formed at a side surface of a main filtering layer to form a downflow to be filtered. The level of the early rainwater is then lower than the surface of the main filtering layer. The apparatus of the present invention is advantageous in that offensive odors and the breeding of harmful insects caused by the water contained in the housing are prevented by the main filtering layer, the surface of which is exposed. Further, the apparatus for early rainwater purification of the present invention enables superior rainwater purification, convenient maintenance, and simple construction, and is inexpensive.
Abstract:
A drainage attenuating device comprising: a storage container having an inlet and an outlet and adapted to collect and store rainwater entering the storage container via the inlet; and flow restricting means adapted to restrict the flow of rainwater from the storage container towards a sewer system via the outlet.
Abstract:
A water treatment system having a system inlet to receive a fluid flow, a treatment chamber, a first system outlet, and a second system outlet. The treatment chamber has an inlet in communication with the system inlet and an outlet in communication with the first system outlet, and is adapted to remove one or more contaminants from the fluid flow. The second system outlet is separated from the system inlet by a weir that prevents the fluid from passing into the second system outlet when the fluid is below a predetermined height, and allow at least a portion of the fluid to pass into the second system outlet without passing through the treatment chamber when the fluid is above a predetermined height. The second system outlet is isolated from the first system outlet such that fluid passing through the first system outlet can not impinge upon the treatment chamber outlet.
Abstract:
A system for purifying rainfall runoff including a bar screen; a collection and diversion device; a filter channel; a grass ditch; and a water storage tank. The bar screen is disposed around the collection and diversion device for preliminarily filtering the road rainfall runoff. The collection and diversion device collects the road rainfall runoff and diverts early rainfall runoff to the filter channel, after the filter channel is full, later rainfall runoff is directly diverted to the grass ditch through open channels. The grass ditch includes a percolation bed capable of filtering the early and later rainfall runoff. The water storage tank is connected to the grass ditch via a guiding pipe, to receive the rainfall runoff effusing out of the grass ditch. Part of the rainfall runoff received by the water storage is transported to the percolation bed by a return conduit.
