Abstract:
A pipe plug provides a water-tight seal and expedites locating of non-metallic pipes. The pipe plug includes a hollow body member adapted for being received by an associated piping member of a variety of inner dimensions, and for being engaged with it. The hollow body member includes a tapered portion with tapered threads on its exterior surface and a seal member made of a resilient material. The seal member envelopes the tapered portion of the body and is capable of moving along the exterior surface of the body in a direction generally orthogonal to the direction of the threads, providing thereupon a leak-safe seal. The body is provided with and engaged with a cap portion that includes a metal plate on its top surface, thus adapted for being located with a metal detector.
Abstract:
The method for identifying lateral pipes includes printing identifying indicia on the interior surface of a liner assembly positioned adjacent the lateral pipe. The apparatus includes the liner assembly in place with the identifying indicia visible from the interior of the pipe line.
Abstract:
A connector is provided for connecting a flexible conduit with a second conduit having a barbed outer surface. The connector accommodates the end of the flexible conduit and the end of the second conduit in a manner which prevents removal of the flexible conduit and the second conduit from the connector. Optionally, the connector has a ring that may be used to apply additional pressure and security to the outer surface of the flexible conduit. additionally, the connector may have a wireless enabled communication and optionally, memory device such as a RFID tag attached or affixed to it.
Abstract:
A hydraulic system, comprising a housing (1) on which a first and second connecting member (30,50) are fitted, for connecting the first and the second line respectively The first and the second line are provided with a first and a second insertion fitting (20,40) respectively, each connecting member (30,50) having a body (31,51) with an insertion bore (32,52) for an insertion fitting (20,40), which insertion bore (32,52) extends from an insertion side, and each connecting member (30,50) further comprising an elastic locking member (35,55). The part of the insertion bore (32,52) of each connecting member (30,50) extending between the insertion side and the locking member (35,55) forms a coding part (37,57), in which the coding part (37) of the first connecting member (30) differs with regard to one or more dimensions thereof from the coding part (57) of the second connecting member (50).
Abstract:
A pipe or conduit labeler includes a saddle leg having an inside diameter equal to or slightly smaller than an outside diameter of a pipe or conduit to be labeled. The saddle leg is molded to a saddle stem which in turn is molded to a sign plate. A user either writes useful information directly on the sign plate or affixes a pre-made label to the plate. The sign plate optionally includes raised lettering or information such as an arrow pre-molded on the plate; or Braille characters. The labeler resiliently slips onto the pipe or conduit being labeled. More complex variations of the labeler include extending arms and moveable joints, enabling the identification of pipes or conduits which are at difficult angles or out of direct sight of a user. The labeler provides a means for quickly and clearly labeling pipes, conduit, tubes, and rods. The labeler can be mass produced as a single mold or in parts with different sign plates of varying size and construction. The sign plate provides a flat surface for writing. The labeler can be temporary, removable, or made permanent simply by applying an adhesive to the saddle portion prior to affixing the labeler.
Abstract:
A system and method for establishing plumbing kit specifications for kits containing plastic hose or tubing for installation on boats, RVs or other uses where ruler markings are imprinted longitudinally along the outside surface of stock hose. The ruler markings can be spaced approximately one inch, or other distance, and can include a series of numerals such as 1-12 or 1-11 followed by a repeat symbol. The sequence can repeat indefinitely along the length of the hose. The method allows a length specification for a particular hose segment to be generated by cutting a piece of stock hose at a particular starting ruler mark, clamping or connecting it in place, and then completing the installation of the segment by cutting the second end to the correct length and clamping or connecting it in place. The length can then be computed by reading the ruler marks on the installed hose. This information can be entered as part of the specification for a hose kit.
Abstract:
An intrinsic gauging device for a ferrule type tube fitting of the type having a coupling nut, a coupling body and at least one ferrule, includes a precisely formed marking on the coupling nut that is visually perceptible that indicates the pull-up position of the tube fitting assembly.

Abstract:
The connection according to the invention comprises two elements adapted to be fitted in each other along an axis of fit and no-mistake means borne by the two elements and adapted to pair the two elements by complementarity of shapes. In order to facilitate manipulation of the connection elements to be fitted, and even easily to allow such manipulation by relatively insensitive robots, while simplifying management of the stocks associated with these connection elements, the connection further comprises means for angularly indexing the two elements, borne by the two elements and adapted to position the two elements angularly with respect to each other before the no-mistake means, at least partly connected to the two elements in removable and configurable manner, cooperate together during fit of these elements.
Abstract:
A pipe insulation assembly includes a length of tubular insulation with a longitudinally extending slit so that the tubular insulation can be passed over and mounted on a length of pipe and a jacket overlaying the outer surface of the tubular insulation. To facilitate the installation of the pipe insulation assembly, a ruler, which is associated with the jacket and, preferably, no longer visible when the pipe insulation is mounted on a pipe, extends for the length of the jacket and is located adjacent the slit in the tubular insulation. The ruler has units of linear measurement marked thereon for measuring the pipe insulation assembly in the direction of the length of the pipe insulation assembly.
