Abstract:
A system and method for teleconferencing between conferees connected through a connectionless network and conferees connected through a connection-oriented network having a bridge. A call server connects to a bridge hosting a teleconference among connection-oriented conferees and joins the teleconference. The connection-oriented signal received by the call server is converted into a connectionless signal and sent to authorized, authenticated conferees connected through the connectionless network. The call server receives a connectionless signal from a conferee through the connectionless network, converts the signal to a connection-oriented signal and sends the connection-oriented signal to the bridge. Connectionless signals are stored in a database to be analyzed or sent to other conferees, such as those who were unavailable to join the teleconference as it occurred. The call server provides multimedia interfaces to conferees by which the conferees can monitor and join an ongoing teleconference, access a stored teleconference, or configure a new teleconference. The call server can also bridge teleconferences hosted on two or more bridges, expanding the audience for a given teleconference beyond the capacity of a single bridge.
Abstract:
A communications system is provided in which a calling party can retrieve directory information for placing multimedia calls from a World Wide Web server. The calling party selects the parties to be called by highlighting selected parties on displayed Web pages of directory information. The calling party can initiate a point-to-point multimedia call or a multiple party multimedia conference using the highlighted directory information.
Abstract:
A method of prioritizing emergency calls received at a public safety answering point (PSAP) management system. New emergency calls can be placed on hold and added to a call queue. An audio emergency description message can be recorded from the caller while the emergency call is on hold, and a transcript of the audio emergency description message can be generated using automatic speech recognition. The transcript can be displayed to users in a dashboard while the emergency call is on hold, and a priority level of the emergency call can be adjusted within the call queue based on the transcript, such that urgent emergency calls can be prioritized and answered before less urgent emergency calls.
Abstract:
A Toil-Free Management Platform (TFMP) includes methods and systems for number administration, customer administration, call management services, texting services and text registry, and a smart services registry. The TFMP may allow users to search for, receive recommendations for, and make reservations of toll-free numbers. A user interface may allow activating a toll-free number, through a one-click activation function and users may access the TFMP to create and access existing templates of toll-free call routing templates, and utilize a routing tree engine to create customized call routing trees for the toll-free numbers of interest to the user. Predictive analytic services may be provided that allow a user through a customizable user interface, or dashboard, to access third party data sources and other information derived from toll-free telecommunications networks.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A network device receives, via a user interface, a selection to call a contact's mobile device. The mobile device detects a feature, on the contact's mobile device, that supports presenting a priority call notification and initiates, via a first communication protocol, a pending call to the contact's mobile device. The mobile device presents, prior to the pending call being connected and based on the detecting the feature set, a user interface to solicit a priority indicator option. The mobile device receives, via the user interface, a selection of the priority indicator option and sends, via a second communication protocol, a priority indication flag for the pending call.
Abstract:
In an example embodiment, a visual map of an Interactive voice response (IVR) system is provided to a client device such as a smartphone. The IVR map includes destinations and/or paths. When a user selects a destination and/or path, a client running on the client device generates the appropriate dual-tone multi-frequency (DTMF) tones for the selected destination and/or path, and sends the DTMF tones to the IVR system.
Abstract:
A service center receives a command from a remote device over a network, where the service center provides support services to users on products on behalf clients. Based on the command, a context element of a route sequence map associated with a user of the remote device is identified, where the identified context element is one of context elements of the route sequence map in a hierarchical structure. Each context element having one or more property values specifying at least one of an action to be performed by the service center and a link to one or more child context elements. It is determined whether the identified context element is an action context element or a navigation context element based on one or more property values associated with the identified context element. If so, an action specified by the identified context is performed.
