Abstract: This application relates to renewable diesel production and to production of renewable naphtha in a renewable diesel unit. Disclosed herein is an example of a method of renewable diesel production. Examples embodiments of the method may include hydrotreating the biofeedstock by reaction with hydrogen to form a hydrotreated biofeedstock; contacting at least a portion of the hydrotreated biofeedstock with a dewaxing catalyst to produce a renewable diesel product and a renewable naphtha product; separating the renewable diesel product and the renewable naphtha product in a product splitter; and monitoring an octane number of the renewable naphtha product with an analyzer.

Abstract: Provided herein are methods of making a metal-organic framework comprising: combining a pre-ligand with a metal source to provide a plurality of solid reactants; adding a solvent to the plurality of solid reactants to form a reaction mixture, wherein at least 50 wt% of the reaction mixture are the plurality of solid reactants; heating the reaction mixture wherein the pre-ligand is converted to a ligand in the reaction mixture and the ligand reacts with the metal component; and cooling the reaction mixture to produce the metal-organic framework. The present methodologies are performed without dimethylformamide in the reaction mixture. The present methods may further comprise the step of adding a crystallization aid such as zinc oxide to the reaction mixture.

Abstract: Provided are metal-organic frameworks made by the process of comprising the steps of reacting a first metal source that can generate a tetravalent metal cation in solution, a linear dicarboxylic acid, a second metal source that can generate a divalent cation in solution, and one or more monocarboxylic acid modulators in a solvent to provide a reaction solution. The reaction solution is heated to provide a metal-organic framework having between about 0 wt.% to 10 wt.% of divalent cation, surface area between about 1100 m2/g and 2700 m2/g, a porosity of between about 0.45 cc/g and 1.1 cc/g, and a relative intensity equal to or greater than 0.35 and a peak width ratio of less than 3.0.

Abstract: Provided are marine fuel compositions having acceptable wax behavior. In one form, the marine fuel composition has the following enumerated properties: a kinematic viscosity at 50 °C of about 5 cSt to about 700 cSt; a wax endpoint temperature of less than about 100 °C; and a ratio of kinematic viscosity at 100 °C to operating viscosity greater than 1, wherein the operating viscosity is at least about 2 cSt. The marine fuel composition exists in a liquid phase with essentially all the wax in the composition melted (essentially free of solid wax) prior to fuel injection into a marine engine.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are processes and systems that utilize olefin cross metathesis of triglycerides to produce jet fuel such as hydrocarbons with carbons numbers from C9 to Cl 6. Jet range hydrocarbons may include paraffins, naphthenes, and aromatics with carbon numbers from 9 to 16 (C9-C16), and isomers thereof. The process described herein is versatile and may be suitable for producing jet range hydrocarbons from many different grades and sources of triglycerides. Further, the process described herein may be selective to jet range hydrocarbons which may result in increased yield as compared to hydrocracking or other processes for producing jet range hydrocarbons from triglycerides.
