Abstract: The present invention discloses a system and method for reconstructing an image by rectilinear trajectory scanning, to prevent the image resolution from reducing due to interpolations in angle direction and detector direction while rearranging data. The system includes: a projection data converter for converting the projection data scanned by rectilinear trajectory into the projection data scanned by quasi-parallel beam, a filter for achieving filtered projection data by convolution of a predetermined convolution function kernel and the projection data scanned by quasi-parallel beam, and backprojection means for reconstructing the image by applying weighted backprojection to the filtered projection data. The system and method of the present invention improves the image reconstruction resolution and reduces the influence of data truncation to the image reconstruction. The present invention has some common advantages of the filtered backprojection in the form of the filtered backprojection, such as fast reconstruction and easy simultaneous operation and acceleration etc.
