    Abstract: Disposable resuscitator comprising an elastically compressible elongated squeeze bag (1) having a first opening, a one-way valve for the intake of oxygen-containing gas into the bag (1) mounted in said first opening, a second opening which is in airtight communication with a valve housing in the form of a transparent pipe (6) having a pipe stub (40) for the attachment of the resuscitator to a facial mask, and an outlet (32) for exhalation air, the tubular valve housing (6) containing a valve comprising a valve seat (36) and a disc-shaped valve body (34) of an elastomeric material and having a centrally mounted projecting guide pin (35) which is axially displaceable in a hole in the valve seat (36), a body (31) having a central passage (32) forming said outlet for exhalation air being provided in the free end of the transparent pipe (6), said central passage (32) being surrounded by an annular bead (33) which is located co-axially and in contact with the valve member (34), said pipe stub (40) for the attachment of the resuscitator to a facial mask extending from the side of the transparent pipe (6) and being in communication with the zone (42) located between the valve member (34) and the body (31) located in the free end of the transparent pipe (6).

    Abstract: This invention is an improved cervical collar (10) having an elongated neck encircling band (12), a chin support brace (14), a sternum and shoulder brace (15), and adjustment system secured to the sternum and shoulder brace (15), and the elongated neck encircling band (12) for adjusting the height of the sternum and shoulder brace (15) in relation to the elongated neck encircling band (12). The adjustment system is designed to lock the sternum and shoulder brace (15) in position preventing further extension of the sternum and shoulder brace (15) in relation to the elongated neck encircling band (12) as well as preventing retrograde movement of the sternum and shoulder brace (15) in relation to the neck encircling band (12). The collar also includes a positive alignment tracking system for maintaining the sternum and shoulder brace (15) in parallel alignment with the elongated neck encircling band (12) as the height of the sternum and shoulder brace (15) is adjusted.

According to the invention the chest extension structure (3) is connected to said chest means' distal end by means allowing it to pivot about a pivot axis extending in a direction transversely to the chest means between an in-use position wherein the chest extension structure extends longitudinally from the chest means and serves to stabilise the manikin, and a storage position wherein the chest extension structure is pivoted away from the in-use position in order to reduce the length of space occupied by the manikin unit.

An expansible means (7) is provided in the container and adapted to expand upon action from the outer area to displace air and/or other gases in the container (1) out through the second opening. This improves the certainty that oxygen and/or other gas finds its way to the patient's air passages.
