Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for processing an accidental transmission interruption of a wireless communication system. SOLUTION: A wireless link control (RLC) layer 142 provides RLC entity information 164 for a media access control (MAC) layer 144. The RLC entity information 164 informs of that the RLC layer 142 has a service data unit (SDU) 141 to be transmitted. After the RLC entity information 164 is provided, the RLC layer 142 receives the accidental data interruption and the MAC layer 142 sends a MAC request 166 to request the RLC layer 142 to send at least one PDU 145. In response to the MAC request 166, the RLC layer 152 sends at least one padding PDU 150 to the MAC layer 144 to substitute for a discarded SDU. In another method, a SDU to originally be discarded is held and discarded in a next transmission time interval TTI. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ball auto-balance system control method for an optical disk device, to be applied to all auto-balance systems. SOLUTION: The ball auto-balance system control method for the optical disk device is provided with a spindle motor and a rotor for housing at least one ball, and includes the steps of: setting the acceleration/deceleration range of the spindle motor between a first rotational speed and a second rotational speed; performing acceleration/deceleration within the acceleration/deceleration range at least twice by driving the rotor by the spindle motor; obtaining a signal error value generated by the optical head of the optical disk device after the acceleration/deceleration of the spindle motor within the acceleration/deceleration range; and controlling the spindle motor to accelerate up to an operation rotational speed when the signal error value is smaller than a predetermined value. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for handling a random access procedure in a wireless communications system. SOLUTION: A dedicated preamble corresponding to the random access procedure is already allocated to a UE. The method includes a stage of determining whether or not to reuse the dedicated preamble when a downlink message is not normally received in the UE or the random access procedure is a failure. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a keyboard structure which is excellent in the portable convenience and the efficiency of an operation where key intervals are adjustable. SOLUTION: This keyboard structure is provided with at least a substrate, a plurality of key modules, a piezoelectric element and a differential device. Each pair of key modules are arranged symmetrically to a horizontal direction on the substrate with reference to a horizontal axial center line S of the substrate. The piezoelectric element is connected to the key modules so that an electric signal can be outputted. The differential device is provided with at least one differential element and at least one movement control unit, and a pair of key modules are interlinked by adding a horizontal force, and moved close to or apart from the horizontal axial center line S of the substrate so that the corresponding movement control unit can be interlinked by the key modules, and that the other key modules can be moved close to or apart from the horizontal axial center line S of the substrate. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method to detect a lost status report which is deterministic and adaptive to the transmission conditions of a communication system. SOLUTION: The method to detect the lost status report determines that a second status report is required when an AMD PDU not negatively acknowledged in the first status report, an AMD PDU with a polling bit set, or the last negatively acknowledged AMD PDU is received after the expiry of a roundtrip timer and before all the negatively acknowledged AMD PDUs in the first status report are received. The method provides a deterministic way of detecting a lost status report, resulting in improved transmission throughput in a wireless communications system. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for avoiding deletion of new key set in an Inter-RAT procedure and wireless equipment relating thereto. SOLUTION: The wireless equipment first normally completes any Inter-RAT procedure of Inter-RAT delivery, Inter-RAT cell re-selection or Inter-RAT cell change instruction from UTRAN. The wireless equipment than determines presence/non-presence of USIM. When the USIM is present, the wireless equipment determines whether or not the new key set is received and whether or not the key set is used for an encryption function and an integrity function in the case of current RRC connection. When the new key set is present but is not used, the wireless equipment stores a value of zero in the USIM as a security START value for a CN domain associated with the RRC connection. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a notebook computer with a non-exposed touch pad. SOLUTION: This notebook computer includes a casing, a display and the touch pad. The casing is provided with an upper lid member and the upper lid member includes an attachment part. The display is turnably connected to the casing. The attachment part is formed on the inner surface of the upper lid member. The touch pad is provided in the attachment part and prevented from being exposed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a timer processing method for preventing a deterioration in quality-of-service (QoS) by avoiding an RLC AM entity from a dead lock in a wireless communication system. SOLUTION: The timer processing method is provided with: a step for starting a Timer-Poll-Periodic timer for the RLC AM entity; a step for carrying out a reset step for the RLC AM entity; and a step for restarting the Timer-Poll-Periodic timer in response of out-of-validity of the Timer-Poll-Periodic timer before the completion of the reset step. Further, the method is equipped with a step for maintaining an operation of the timer while maintaining a value of the timer without stopping the Timer-Poll-Periodic timer in response to the reset step. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for determining a start value, which is stored in a memory of a wireless communication device. SOLUTION: The start value has a size of x bits, and is used to provide an initial value to an n-bit security count value. The radio communication device establishes a channel with a suitable device, and releases the channel established with the suitable device. Finish values corresponding to all the channels established by the radio communication device are acquired. The finish value of each of the channels is the highest value at which the most significant bit (MSB x ) of an n-bit security count value corresponding to this channel reaches. Data transmitted through the channels are encrypted by using the security count value. The finally acquired value is the greatest value among all the finish values. Finally, a start value having at least the same size as that of the final value is stored in a memory of the wireless device. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
