    Abstract: PURPOSE: To install a two-soldier fighting position efficiently, by arranging an explosive at each bottom of hollow recesses with desired depth excavated at regular intervals, denoting this explosive so as to loosen the soil within the limited extent for removal, and adjusting the inwall of the hollow recess. CONSTITUTION: The user bores a plurality of hollow recesses 60 and 62 arranged at specified intervals to desired depths using a material-retention type auger 20, and installs an explosive 16 at each bottom of the bored recesses 60 and 62, and connects a remotely operable triggering device 42 through fuses 50 and 52 to this explosive 16. It is to be desired that the explosive 16 should be a binary explosive. Next, he loosens the soil 64 within the limited extent by donating the explosive 16, and removes the loosened soil 64. Next, he adjusts an inwall part of such structure that the soil is removed as required. As a result, he can install a two-soldier fighting position efficiently.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To enable a three-dimensional image of a three-dimensionally measured region to be produced in a short time with a simple and inexpensive system by image-processing a histogram generated by using an azimuth angle, an elevation angle and distance data of backscatter return. CONSTITUTION: A pulse from a transmitter 12 is converted into an acoustic signal by a converter array 14 and emitted in water, received by a receiver, amplified, converted into sample value backscatter data and transmitted to a processor 18. The processor 18 three-dimensionally calculates with an incoming angle of the backscatter data obtained from three elements of the array 14 as an azimuth angle and an elevation angle, and combined with distance and amplitude data to generate a three-dimensional backscatter histogram. An image processing part image-processes the histogram data and creates a topographic map or a three-dimensional measurement model of a threeclimensionally measured region for displaying.
