Abstract: The pump/motor is without defined suction and pressure sides, to give 4-quadrant operation, e.g. positive RPM and drive momentum, positive RPM and negative drive momentum, negative RPM and positive drive momentum, negative RPM and positive drive momentum. Volume flow/absorption volume are regulated by displacement of a reciprocating piston (3). The piston has pressure nodules (7), connection bores (6), and fittings (8), to give hydraulic position regulation in vertical direction, and prevent impact of the piston on the housing (4). The piston is displaced via the chamber connection (11,12) an e.g. a proportional valve (9).

Abstract: A tubular pushing member, when released by the trigger of a pistol grip moves forward under the pull of a spring, releases the catch of a sliding carriage which then quickly jabs forward under the pull of another spring to jab the needle of a syringe carried by it through the patient's skin, after which the further progress of the pushing member comes up against the plunger of the syringe, which it engages with an adjustable plunger mounted on a heel bracket of the tubular pushing member. The progress of the actuation of the syringe plunger may be slowed down, interrupted or allowed to accelerate at any stage of the injection by virtue of frictional engagement with the tubular pushing member by a rubber piece mounted on the top edge of the trigger plate and a spring weaker than the trigger spring makes it possible for the braking friction to taper off gradually for better control of the movement of the syringe piston as the trigger is pulled away from the tubular pushing member against the force of the trigger spring.

Abstract: The assembly includes a docking console and a manifold. The docking console includes a cartridge support surface having a first end and a second end. The manifold has one or more wells defined therein. The docking console further includes a manifold retention bracket to releasably hold the manifold against a fluid cartridge supported on the cartridge support surface at an interface position such that the one or more wells are in fluid communication with the fluid cartridge and a biased seal bar to press the fluid cartridge against the manifold held by the manifold retention bracket. Abstract: An apparatus for selectively stimulating one or a number of nerve cells in the defective retina of a human eye employs a portable laser source whose beam is projected onto the retina via the natural lens of the eye. The laser unit and system controller can be conveniently carried in a small container at the waist with connections made by coaxial and fibre-optics cables to a prosthetic assembly in the form of conventional spectacles. These incorporate a photosensor array for detecting the wearer's forward environment, a fixed focusing mirror and a beam steering reflector responding to signals from a pupil position sensor which combine to regulate stimulation of the appropriate retinal neurons.
