    Abstract: A muffler-filter apparatus having a particulate trap using filter tubes with high temperature filter materials, like fiber in the form of yarn, woven yarn mat, or a non-woven, random array fiber mat, or various foams. Filter tubes have various structural configurations and are regenerated by axial propagation using ring heaters or stub rod heaters, by heating the entire length of the filter tube with a rod heater or some other full-length heater configuration. For regeneration, exhaust flow is bypassed using various valve configurations including a poppet valve, a shutter valve, or a tubular valve. Filter tube filters may also be self-regenerated by the heat from the exhaust gases as controlled by a throttle valve or on inclusion of fuel additives which lower particulate ignition temperature.

    Abstract: The disclosure is directed to a cartridge type centrifuge for separating particulate matter from fluids. The cartridge comprises a plurality of flow stages, each of which consists of alternately wrapped layers of flat and corrugated paper defining a plurality of vertical passages, the corrugations determining the space between passages. To effect uniform flow throughout all vertical passages, which brings maximum particle separation efficiency, the centrifuge includes a unique baffle which causes all fluid to flow through an area of maximum angular momentum.

    Abstract: Abstract An air filter cartridge is described. It comprises a media pack, a housing engagement member surrounding the media pack and a member of an air cleaner security, housing closure, inhibition arrangement positioned in the housing engagement 5 member. The media pack has an outer perimeter and opposite flow faces. The housing engagement member includes a pinch seal portion, a seal support portion and a receiving trough positioned radially inwardly of the pinch seal portion. The member of an air cleaner security, housing closure, inhibition arrangement comprises a pocket arrangement including at least one receiving pocket therein, wherein the at least one 10 receiving pocket defines a deeper recess than portions of the receiving trough.
