Abstract:
A semiconductor memory device with a memory array of cells formed as a matrix has bit lines, and word lines driven by word line drivers, where each of the word line drivers simultaneously selects and drives at least two word lines in order to minimize line resistances of the word lines, thereby minimizing a delay time and improving a speed of sensing a cell data. Accordingly a number of the word line drivers is at least one-half a number of the word lines.
Abstract:
A video RAM having a random access memory, a serial access memory, and a block selector for high speed data processing is disclosed. A serial write transfer operation for transferring data stored in the serial access memory to the random access memory is performed by writing the serial write data on all serial access memory blocks and then transmitting, the serial write data selectively to the desired blocks of the random access memory.
Abstract:
A method of processing image signals comprises determining whether each of multiple units of input pixel data received from an image sensor is bad pixel data generated by a bad pixel of the image sensor or normal pixel data generated by a normal pixel of the image sensor, and performing interpolation to generate image data corresponding to the bad pixel using only normal pixel data and omitting bad pixel data.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for estimating an orientation are disclosed. Methods of estimating an orientation include: dividing a fingerprint image into first partial regions, measuring the gradient of each pixel of the fingerprint image, and estimating a representative orientation of each of the first partial regions; obtaining an improved fingerprint image by filtering the fingerprint image using a double orientation filter, and remeasuring the representative orientation of each of the first partial regions by remeasuring the gradient of each pixel of the improved fingerprint image; and dividing the first partial regions into second partial regions, and estimating the representative orientation of the second partial regions with respect to the curvatures of the first partial regions in response to the remeasured representative orientation of each of the first partial regions and the remeasured gradients of the pixels.
Abstract:
In a Gabor filter, a modified Gabor mask function is generated from an original Gabor mask function. A convolution of an image is performed with the modified Gabor mask function to generate a filtered image. The modification of the original Gabor mask function to the modified Gabor mask function reduces a number of calculations during such a convolution.

Abstract:
A high density semiconductor device is provided with an improved voltage pumping (bootstrapping) circuit. The voltage pumping circuit generates at an initial power-up state a first output voltage which is substantially identical to the memory device source supply voltage. The pumping circuit then pumps the first output voltage up to a second output voltage which is higher than the first output voltage. The pumping operation is achieved prior to or upon the semiconductor memory device being enabled in response to a series of pulses output from an oscillator.
Abstract:
A mode selecting circuit for selecting a single operational mode in a semiconductor memory device having a plurality of operational modes. Instead of using an additional masking process, the present invention uses mode selecting pads, wherein a mode selecting pad is bonded to the terminal of the power source so as to select a mode in the final assemblying stage of the manufacturing process, so that the process is simplified and the yield rate is increased.
