Abstract: There is provided a wheel mounting assembly having a wheel fork. The fork includes an interior and an inwardly extending protrusion disposed within the interior. The assembly includes a rotatable member operatively connected to the fork and disposed within the interior of the fork. The protrusion abuts and positions in place the rotatable member. The assembly includes a shaft. The rotatable member rotatably connects the shaft to the wheel fork. The assembly includes a retaining member connected to the shaft. The retaining member having a recess within which the protrusion is received. The retaining member is configured to abut the protrusion of the fork and thus inhibit dislodgement of the rotatable member from the fork when the shaft is tilted relative to the fork.

Abstract: There is provided a collapsible walker apparatus with a pair of outer frame members. The apparatus includes a pair of inner frame members interposed between and pivotally connecting to the outer frame members, each inner frame member including a first part and a second part hingedly connected together. One inner frame member has a seat handle outwardly extending therefrom. The apparatus has a pair of link members diagonally extending between and pivotally connecting to inner frame members for connecting together the inner frame members. Each link member has a bend extending outwardly towards an adjacent one of said outer frame members. The link members have an extended mode for opening the inner frame members outward and thereby spacing-apart the outer frame members, and a folded mode actuated via the seat handle for bringing the inner frame members together and thus the outer frame members to collapse the walker apparatus.

Abstract: There is provided a walker apparatus having a pair of frame members including telescoping tubes. The apparatus includes a handle bar assembly having a gripping handle, a connection member connected thereto and an actuation means for actuating the connection member. The apparatus has a brake pad means and a self-adjusting brake rod assembly disposed within one frame member. The brake rod assembly has a brake rod connected to the brake pad means and a gripping member connected to the connection member. The gripping member remains adjacent to the brake rod throughout the adjustment range of the telescoping tubes. The gripping member is spring-biased to remain free of the brake rod in a non-actuated mode and, when the gripping handle of the walker is squeezed to actuate the connection member, the gripping member is actuated to engage and actuate the brake rod.
