The mounting accessory may include a mounting portion configured to interface with one or more of the horizontal grooves and a support portion for support an item to be displayed. The mounting accessory may be positioned at a plurality of positions relative to the placard. In some embodiments, the decorative display may include a plurality of vertical grooves for mounting accessories.
Abstract:
Disclosed are methods for identifying molecular interactions between DNA sequences and proteins in vivo. The methods of the invention employ known or suspected DNA-binding proteins and genomic DNA in a plasmid library. Interacting molecules direct the expression of a reporter gene, the expression of which is then assayed. Also disclosed are genetic constructs useful in practicing the methods of the invention.
Abstract:
Expression vectors that include a pre-selected therapeutic nucleic acid operably linked to a tumor specific or cell type-speci fic promoter and a Tcf-4β-catenin enhancer are provided. The therapeutic nucleic acid preferably includes a gene encoding a therapeutic protein for treatment of, for example, cancer. Methods for targeted expression of therapeutic nucleic acid, and methods for treating cancer, utilizing the expression vectors described herein, are also provided. Host cells are also provided that have been transformed with the expression vectors described herein.
Abstract:
An embodiment provides a method for managing a hydrocarbon asset. The method includes creating an interactive community of agents, wherein each agent comprises code and functional data structures configured to direct a processor to access resource on a network. At least one of the agents is configured to be a workflow agent, wherein the workflow agent is configured to pursue a plan to accomplish a goal. The workflow agent is provided with sensors to determine environmental conditions. The workflow agent is provided with the ability to communicate with other intelligent agents. The workflow agent is configured to select the plan based, at least in part, on information obtained from the sensors.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for molding a component onto a stretched blank. The apparatus includes a stretching assembly mounted adjacent to a first mold part. The stretching assembly includes a plurality of clamp assemblies that grasp the peripheral edge of the blank and a plurality of slide assemblies that move the clamp assemblies away from one another to apply a stretch to the fabric. The apparatus further includes a press for closing a second mold part onto the first mold part while the fabric is held in a stretched condition by the stretching assembly. In one embodiment, the stretching assembly may include a float plate that is movable with respect to the first mold part between a stretch position and a mold position. The apparatus may include a robot with tooling for moving the fabric onto the stretching assembly. The tooling may include a plurality of shot pins that push the fabric off of the tooling onto corresponding fabric pins in the stretching machine. In one embodiment, the apparatus include a stretch measuring device adapted to measure the stretch applied to the fabric.
Abstract:
A bug swatter is provided that reduces the chances that bug remains will come into contact with an object or surface in an undesirable manner. The bug swatter is made up of a swatter body having a swatter head connected to a handle portion, wherein the handle portion can be manipulated by a user so the user can advance the swatter head towards a bug to swat the bug. A cover member is connectable to the handle portion and moveable relative to the swatter head, wherein the bug swatter can be moved from an uncovered configuration where the swatter head is uncovered by the cover member to a covered configuration where at least a portion of the cover member covers at least a portion of the swatter head. The bug swatter can also have a locking mechanism adapted to lock the bug swatter in the uncovered configuration or the covered configuration. The locking mechanism can be unlocked by a user. A method of swatting a bug is also provided.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses are provided for controlling application software while switching between session in a multi-session computing environment. An apparatus includes memory coupled to switching logic and application program managing logic. The switching logic is configured to selectively switch console control of a computing device between at least two user kernel sessions that are maintained in the memory. The application program managing logic is configured to selectively control at least one application program that is operatively configured within at least one of the user kernel sessions. For example, the application program managing logic can be configured to stop the operation, restart certain application programs, notify application programs about switching events, and/or adjust the playback of audio and/or video signals associated certain application programs.
Abstract:
A basic architecture for managing digital identity information in a network such as the World Wide Web is provided. A user of the architecture can organize his or her information into one or more profiles which reflect the nature of different relationships between the user and other entities, and grant or deny each entity access to a given profile. Various enhancements which may be provided through the architecture are also described, including tools for filtering email, controlling access to user web pages, locating other users and making one's own location known, browsing or mailing anonymously, filling in web forms automatically with information already provided once by hand, logging in automatically, securely logging in to multiple sites with a single password and doing so from any machine on the network, and other enhancements.
Abstract:
A multi-layered support structure provides ergonomic, adaptable seating support. The multi-layered support structure includes multiple cooperative layers to maximize global comfort and support while enhancing adaptation to localized variations in a load, such as in the load applied when a person sits in a chair. The cooperative layers each include elements such as pixels, springs, support rails, and other elements to provide this adaptable comfort and support. The multi-layered support structure also uses aligned material to provide a flexible yet durable support structure. Accordingly, the multi-layered support structure provides maximum comfort for a wide range of body shapes and sizes.
