    Abstract: A system for performing analog multiply-and-accumulate (MAC) operations employs at least one cross coupling capacitor processing unit (C3PU). A system includes a wordline to which an analog input voltage is applied, a voltage supply line having a supply voltage (VDD), a bitline, a clock signal line, a current integrator op-amp connected to the bitline and to the clock signal line, and a C3PU connected to the wordline. The C3PU includes a CMOS transistor and a capacitive unit. The capacitive unit includes a cross coupling capacitor and a gate capacitor. The cross coupling capacitor is connected between the wordline and the gate terminal of the CMOS transistor. The gate capacitor is connected between the gate terminal and ground. The CMOS transistor is configured to conduct a current that is proportional to voltage applied to the gate terminal.

    Abstract: Embodiments include an artificial soil composition for supporting plant growth and related methods. The artificial soil composition may include a mixture including at least three of the following components: (a) an iron oxide-containing industrial byproduct; (b) a sulfur- containing industrial byproduct; (c) a sand component; (d) a clay component; (e) a water- soluble polymer component; (f) a nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium (NPK) source; and (g) an organic matter component.     Abstract: The invention provides for a hybrid unmanned aerial and submersible vehicle (UASV) (100) comprising a fuselage (102), at least one wing structure (104, 106), a propulsion system (116, 118) and an empennage. The said vehicle is capable of operating in air, on water and underwater via its wing tilting mechanism wherein the transition of the vehicle between different mediums is seamless. Further, the wing structures (104, 106) are connected on either side of the fuselage (102), such that each wing (104, 106) tilts about a common lateral axis (360° of freedom), and wherein said tilting depends on the mode of operation of the UASV (100). The vehicle of the present invention further includes a propeller protection system, a landing system, control surfaces, and sensors. The present invention also discloses methods for operating the UASV (100) in multiple mediums.

    Abstract: A method for determining permeability of a porous medium is described which comprises the steps: a) obtaining a three-dimensional picture of the porous medium by an imaging system, b) dividing the three-dimensional picture into a number n of two-dimensional parallel slices, wherein n is an integer of 2 or more, c) identifying one or more pores in a first outermost slice (n 1 ) using a grid which defines image pixels, d) identifying one or more pores in a second slice (n 2 ) directly neighboring the first outermost slice (n 1 ) using the same grid which defines image pixels as for the first outermost slice (n 1 ), and e) labelling the one or more pores in the second slice (n 2 ) as connected if at least one of its neighbours in the first outermost slice (n 1 ) is a pore to give a number of connected pores as a connectivity result. Also described is a system comprising means for carrying out such a method.
