Air reservoirs (37a, 37b) are provided on at least suction sides or discharge sides of circulating pumps (14a, 14b) which constitute a heat radiation cycle or a heat absorption cycle. The circulating pumps (14a, 14b) are provided in positions higher than heat radiating or cooling heat exchangers (10, 20) and first or second heat exchanging portions (26a, 26b), and circulating bubbles are reduced by recovering mixed bubbles, whereby the thermal efficiency is improved.

A door handle structure for a refrigerator of a type including at least one access door (2) hingedly supported at one side portion so as to move between opened and closed positions about a hinge axis (H) to thereby selectively open and close an opening leading to a refrigerator compartment. The access door (2) includes a front panel (4), a rear panel confronting the refrigerator compartment and upper and lower frame members (3a, 3b) and also includes a heat insulating material (5) filled in a space delimited by the front and rear panels and the upper and lower frame members (3a, 3b). The door handle structure includes a generally elongated handle (6) rigidly secured at one end to an opposite side portion of the access door (2) remote from the hinge axis (H). This handle (6) has a grip area (10) extending widthwise of the access door (2).

An electrically-operated sealed compressor includes a cylinder, a cylinder head mounted on the cylinder and having a suction chamber and first and second discharge chambers, a piston accommodated in the cylinder, and a valve mechanism. The valve mechanism includes a suction muffler and a valve plate having at least one suction port, first and second discharge ports, and first and second pass holes. The first discharge port and the first pass hole communicate with the first discharge chamber, while the second discharge port and the second pass hole communicate with the second discharge chamber. The valve mechanism also includes first and second discharge valves mounted on the valve plate and accommodated in the first and second discharge chambers, respectively, a suction reed having a reed valve for selectively opening and closing the suction port, a discharge gasket for sealing the valve plate and the cylinder head, and a discharge muffler. The first and second discharge chambers are separated from each other by the discharge gasket to form respective independent spaces, while the first and second pass holes communicate with the discharge muffler.

This invention aims at obtaining an oil feed mechanism-carrying rotary compressor capable of increasing a feed rate of an oil to a sliding portion, improving a lubricating effect and a cooling effect, and discharging abrasion powder and dust from an oil feed system. To achieve this object, the present invention is formed by providing a bottomed cylindrical oil bore (213) in the central portion of a shaft (206), and a spiral oil groove (224) in an outer circumferential surface thereof, allowing communication between one end portion of the oil bore (213) and one end portion of oil groove (224), i.e. between a bottom portion (213') and an end portion (224') via an outlet port (214), and providing a suction passage (221A) for allowing communication between the other end of the oil bore (213) and an oil (2), and a discharge passage (223B) for communication between the other end (224') and the oil (2).

A flow diverter provided with a flow inlet part (22) having a throttle formed at one end, a roughly cylindrical flow diverting part (24) having a flow-striking wall (23) for changing the direction of the flow coming from the inlet part (22), and a plurality of outlet pipes (25) connected to the peripheral wall of the flow diverting part (24) while arranged in the radial direction, wherein gaseous phase of the refrigerant flowing into the inlet part (22) is evenly mixed with liquid phase thereof to be diverted uniformly in quantity. Because of the arrangement of the outlet pipes (25) connected to the peripheral wall of the roughly cylindrical flow diverting part (24) in the radial pattern, the flow diverter can be reduced in size and manufacturing cost.

A foamed heat-insulating material for cold storage and refrigerator, wherein the amount of a fluorocarbon blowing agent is reduced, which is prepared by stirring a mixture of a carbon dioxide adsorbent having a hydrophobic surface with a water-containing premix component and an isocyanate component. The amount of a fluorocarbon blowing agent can be reduced by using water as the blowing agent. Carbon dioxide generated by the reaction of water with the isocyanate is removed by adsorption with the carbon dioxide adsorbent after the foaming to thereby obtain purified fluorocarbon gas from gases enclosed in the cells.

A temperature regulator efficiently regulates a temperature of a storage battery. The regulator includes a thermoelectric transducer having a first face and a second face. The first face is thermally coupled with one or plural storage batteries, and the second face is thermally coupled with a thermal action accelerating medium that accelerates thermal action on the second face. The first face and the second face do the two jobs contradictory to each other, i.e., heat dissipation and heat absorption, responsive to a polarity in exciting the battery. This structure allows the temperature regulator to cool down and warm up the storage battery.
