    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a tire for vehicle wheels satisfying a high production capacity and high technological flexibility as well. SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a tire for vehicle wheels includes (a) the step of assembling a carcass structure containing at least one carcass ply and a pair of cyclic fixing structures on the first molding drum 6, (b) transporting the first molding drum 6 and the carcass structure to at least one assembling and shaping work station 4 by using at least one robot arm 50 and (c) a step of imposing the carcass structure to a crown structure to warp them into toroidal shape on the assembling and shaping work station 4 whereby a green tire is obtained, wherein the crown structure contains at least a belt structure and a tread band, further wherein the carcass structure is combined with the first molding drum 6 and plying process is conducted thereon up to the ending point of the step (c) for plying a tire to be worked. SOLUTION: In this tire for automobile wheels, the grooves 9 in the longitudinal direction of a tread band 3 and the grooves 10 in the transverse direction are inclined opposite to each other on both sides of the equatorial plane of the tire, and intersected portions form lags 6. The grooves 9 in the longitudinal direction have a part of an extended portion included in a contact area A of the tire. Inclined portions of the grooves 9 in the longitudinal direction are tapered at both ends and have blind hole shapes to form an end portion oriented in the circumferential direction. A tapered end portion oriented in the circumferential direction is shorter than the inclined portion.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely simplify the complexity of an optical transmission system, which requires an optical pulse compressing device, at low cost. SOLUTION: The optical transmission system 100 includes an optical source 105, a dispersing element, and a passive optical compressing device 120. Deformation-limited optical pulses are generated by the optical source 105. The optical pulses are sent to the passive optical compressing device 120. The device 120 filters the pulses or performs spectrum formation normally by using a passive optical notch filter. As the frequency band of the optical pulses expands as the pulses are filtered, the temporal pulse width of the optical pulses is reduced or compressed to desirable narrow pulse width without a control signal nor high-speed electrooptic technology.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an apparatus for testing a compound of tires which eliminates a sealing bearing related to a working main shaft for a test piece which is used in the prior art and inevitably generates a friction to a direction opposite to a rotation direction of the main shaft by specially supporting a motor and the main shaft set in the apparatus. SOLUTION: An apparatus 1 for testing a compound of tires has a load drum 3 and a test piece 5 which rotate respectively about axes X and Y parallel to each other and roll in contact with each other. The test piece 5 of rubber to be analyzed is set to an end part of a main shaft driven by a motor 6. Preferably, the main shaft is stored in a sealed casing 63 so as not to be exposed to the water or the other medium during a test. The main shaft driving the test piece is supported by a non seal type bearing, and hence a low friction type bearing. The obtained apparatus is configured not to change results of executed tests.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tire capable of accurately arranging a reinforcement element made of shape memory alloy at an angle of 0 deg. to a tire equatorial plane in a textile and of maintaining better fatigue resistance of the textile. SOLUTION: Rubber coated textiles 11, 12, 13 form belt layers at an angle of 0 deg. with an equatorial plane of a tire 1. The textiles contain means to stabilize reinforcement elements at designated positions. This stabilization of the reinforcement element 6 is done by forming the reinforcement elements in the shape of metal straps 15 put side by side. The minimum width of each metal strap 15 is about 1 mm and the thickness of the rubber coated textiles 11, 12, 13 containing the metal strap 15 is about 0.4 mm at the maximum and is preferably about 0.3 mm. Especially, the rubber coated textiles 11, 12, 13 improve a vulcanization process of the tire 1 by restricting belt layers under them 11, 12, 13 to reduce occurrence of 'flat spotting' and to ensure light weight structure of the tire 1.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for molding/curing a tire for a vehicle wheel which can obtain desirable effects for a final product stably by a method in which the inner end fringe in the circumferential direction of a tire is substantially disengaged from a ring-shaped support simultaneously with the inflation of the tire and made freely movable to/from the support by a controlled method. SOLUTION: An unvulcanized tire 7 produced on a ring-shaped support 10 is enclosed in a vulcanization casting mold 2. After the inflation of the tire 7, steam or another pressurized fluids is supplied to a diffusion cavity 18 formed between the inner surface of the tire 7 and the outer surface of the support 10. The inflation of the tire 7 is corrected by the separation of a bead 7b in the axial direction from the support 10. In this way, the generation of excessive tension by codes forming a tire carcass structure is prevented. The inner surface of the tire 7 is coated with a preliminarily cured liner in advance to prevent the diffusion of water particles in an unvulcanized elastomer.
