    Abstract: 1316059 Casting electric insulators ROSENTHAL STEMAG TECHNISCHE KERAMIK GmbH 31 Aug 1971 [5 Sept 1970] 40640/71 Heading B5A An electrical insulator, comprising a series of umbrella-shaped portions 4 1 on a stem 1 which may have suspension fittings 6 on each end, is made by introducing a liquid artificial resin 4 into a mould 2 which is sealed around but slidable along the stem 1, moving the mould relative to the stem to form a sleeve of resin 5, curing the resin to form an inverted "umbrella" 4 1 , removing the mould from the first umbrella and refilling it to form more umbrellas, each one overlapping the tip of the previous embrella. A series of moulds on a rotating table may be automatically controlled so that every revolution each mould in turn is filled, the resin cured by heating and either the stem raised or the mould lowered to the next casting position.

    Abstract: 1361917 Insulator ROSENTHAL STEMAG TECHNISCHE KERAMIK AG 4 Dec 1972 [15 Dec 1971] 55905/72 Heading H2C [Also in Division B5] A high tension insulator comprises a stack of umbrella shaped portions 4, 5 &c. cast one at a time on to a stem 3 (see Division B5) using, e.g., epoxy resin containing glass fibres. Suspension fittings 7, 8 are attached at each end. The "umbrellas" may be angular or oval in crosssection and have undercuts formed by removable moulding cores, and the insulator may be hollow for use as a transformer bushing (Fig. 5, not shown).
