    Abstract: This method relates to the manufacturing a hot-formed, heat treatable aluminum base alloy rod(17) containing 0.5 - 0.9 wt. % Si, 0.6 - 0.9 wt. % Mg and the remainder essentially aluminum, cooling a cast metal during casting at a rate to which no solidification shrinkage occurs. The alloy metals will precipitate to the grain boundaries of the aluminum base metal. No substantial immediate precipitation occurs within an interval before any substantial precipitation occurs.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flexible oxide superconductive cable having fewer AC loss. SOLUTION: A tape-shaped superconductive wire covered with a stabilizing metal is wound around a flexible former 13. It is preferable that the superconductive wire is arranged on the former so as to make bending distortion not exceed 0.2%. When preparing the superconductive wire on the former, a first layer is formed by making a plurality of tape-shaped superconductive wires arrange on a core material in parallel. A second layer is formed by making the designated number of tape-shaped superconductive wires arrange on the first layer in parallel. The former can be manufactured from a metal, plastics, reinforced plastics, polymer, or a composite, and the former prepares flexibility on the superconductive wire and the cable.     Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a conductivity-enhanced overhead power-transmission line by forming a plural annealed conductors-twisted layer around a twisted steel core so as to form a cable, and heat treating at a limited temperature to remove stress and to anneal. CONSTITUTION: The periphery of a high tensile strength steel center strands 18 is surrounded by plural twisted steel strands 20 so as to form a twisted steel core 14, and the same is coated with Al or Zn protective coat 16 on demand. While a rod made of high conductivity Al or Al alloy is annealed into a completely annealed state so as to manufacture a cross section circular conductor wire 32, and the plural conductor wires 32 are twisting wound on the steel core 14 so as to form a layer 38 to manufacture a cable 10. A layer 40 can be further added on the layer 38 on demand. The cable 10 is annealed at a limited temperature which hardly exerts harmful effect on the steel core 14 until the conductor wires 32 are nearly completely softened so as to remove stress. Thereby, it is possible to obtain an overhead power transmission line which has an excellent self damping characteristic and enhanced conductivity.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To extend the life of a flyer tube by disposing an annular cylinder on an outer side in a radial direction apart from the release end of the flyer tube and fixedly mounting the cylinder concentrically with the axis of rotation of the flyer tube. CONSTITUTION: A rod 22 is fed to the upper end 29 of the flyer tube 40 through pinch rolls 24 and rolled turn-down 25. The flyer tube rotates in such a manner that the radius of rotation changes continuously around the axis 32 of rotation, thereby downwardly sending the rod 22 and releasing the rod nearly horizontally from the end 42. The rod 22 is brought into contact with the inside wall of the annular cylinder 44 to form a circular loop 35 by the force heading outside and thereafter the rod falls into a turn table 36. The life of the flyer tube 40 may be prolonged and a production cost is reduced.
