Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for the manufacturing of nanocellulose. The method includes a first modification of the cellulose material, where the cellulose fibres are treated with an aqueous electrolyte-containing solution of an amphoteric cellulose derivative. The modification is followed by a mechanical treatment. By using this method for manufacturing nanocellulose, clogging of the mechanical apparatus is avoided. Also disclosed is nanocellulose manufactured in accordance with said method and uses of said cellulose.
Abstract:
The present invention is a method for manufacturing a composite material having reduced mechanosorptive creep comprising the following steps: a) mixing fibers of a lignocellulosic material with a thermoplastic material where the thermoplastic material is in fiber form, b) adding the mixture made in step a) onto a wet web, thus forming a composite material and c) hot pressing of the composite material. The present invention also provides a composite material having reduced mechanosorptive creep being the manufacturing result of the method. The present invention also comprises the use of the method and the composite material.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for obtaining a low molecular black liquor fraction comprising the following steps:a) separating black liquor into two fractions by using separation means with a cut off of approximately 100 kDa or smaller, or by adding a salt preferably a calcium salt, enabling coagulation; andb) recovering the low molecular fraction. The present invention also providesa method comprising a further step: recovery of the high molecular fraction which is useful as a fuel source which easily may be transported away from the site and used in another site. The present invention also provides a low molecular black liquor fraction obtainable by the above method. The present invention also provides a composition for enhancing the production of chemical pulp based on alkaline processes, e.g. sulfate pulping including polysulfide pulping, soda-aq pulping, soda pulping and alkaline sulfite processes comprising a substance/substances of carbohydratic origin or a low molecular black liquor fraction. The present invention also provides a method for enhancing the production of chemical pulp based on alkaline pulping processes, e.g. sulfate pulping including polysulfide pulping, soda-aq pulping, soda pulping and alkaline sulfite processes comprising adding a composition or a low molecular black liquor fraction. The present invention also provides use of a composition or a low molecular black liquor fraction in alkaline pulping processes, e.g. sulfate pulping including polysulfide pulping, soda-aq pulping, soda pulping and alkaline sulfite processes.
Abstract:
The present invention provides, according to a first aspect, a method for internal sizing of paper or paperboard wherein CMC modified cellulose fibres are treated with a synthetic sizing agent, in the presence of an electrolyte whereby the conductivity of the suspension is at least 1.0 mS/cm. The present invention also provides, according to a second aspect, paper or paperboard obtainable by the above method. According to a third aspect of the invention use of paper or paper board according to the second aspect of the invention for the manufacture of liquid board, communication paper, packaging paper, liner or board is provided.
Abstract:
A method of producing pulp of high light-scattering ability and low shive content by refining wood material. The wood material is subjected to a gas-phase sulphonation process prior to complete refinement of the wood material, suitably prior to the refinement as such. Prior to or after the sulphonation, the wood material is subjected to a treatment known per se, to introduce alkaline metal ions as counter ions to the acidic groups of the wood.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method of manufacturing mechanical and chemi-mechanical papermaking pulp with low energy input by disintegrating and beating wood material in at least two steps. According to the invention, the material is coarse-disintegrated in a first step at a concentration exceeding 20 %, acid groups in the wood material are neutralized, the material is diluted to a concentration of 1-10 % and beaten in one or several steps.
