Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic random access memory element which has higher speed and is more efficient. SOLUTION: The magnetic random access memory element is constituted of a first magnetic tunnel junction and a second magnetic tunnel junction. A latching circuit includes a false node that is connected to the first magnetic tunnel junction and a true node that is connected to the second magnetic tunnel junction. A pair of complementary bit lines are provided in association with the element. A first access transistor interconnects a false one of the bit lines to the false node of the latching circuit, while a second access transistor interconnects a true one of the bit lines to the true node of the latching circuit. The memory element accordingly has a SRAM 4 transistor (4T) 2 load (2R) architecture wherein the resistance associated with two magnetic tunnel junctions provides the two load resistances. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for increasing the strength of a bond formed with small-diameter wire, in ball bonding. SOLUTION: An entity that receives a ball bond has a wire bondpad that covers and charges substrate substance equipped with part forming a substrate cavity and the substrate cavity. The wire bond pad is equipped with part of a wire bond cavity that receives the ball bond. The ball is wire-bonded on the side section and bottom of the wire bond cavity. The side section of the wire bond cavity provides additional strength to the bond, in order to counter a shear force and a tensile force that act on the wire. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved optical image sensor and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: A micro lens having a relatively high refractive index and consisting of an inorganic substance is formed as it has a convex-shaped lower side surface, and is focused on a lower side photo diode by refracting a light passing from an upper side spacer layer to a lower side spacer layer. The micro lens and the photo diode are repeatedly formed together with a color filter and a CMOS circuit element on a semiconductor chip as an array form constituted of such elements, and provides the image sensor. The spacer layer has a relatively low refractive index, images the convex-shaped surface by treating a selective and isotropic etching through an opening in an etch mask, and forms an interface together with the convex-shaped lower side surface of the micro lens after the micro lens substance is adhesively formed conformably. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved test technique for a read-on memory in an integrated circuit. SOLUTION: The test technique comprises a memory cell, a built-in self-testing cell, a comparing cell and a signature cell, and the signature cell contains one set of first conductive paths at a first level and one set of second conductive paths at a second level. The paths at the first level are physically separated from the paths at the second level by an insulative substance and a contact is disposed so as to allow both the paths to be electrically connected with each other. A combination of the first and second conductive paths in the connected condition and the non-connected condition gives the bit condition of a standard signature word, and gives an address data to a memory construct and generates a consequential signature word. The consequential signature word is compared with the standard signature word to generate the status condition in a memory construct-programmed condition. The result of success or failure on the memory construct-programmed condition is expressed by using the status condition. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for more effectively and efficiently reducing power consumption of an electronic apparatus. SOLUTION: In the present invention, the electronic apparatus includes the kinetic sensitivity power switching integrated circuit, and this circuit includes a power switch connected between an input and an output and an MEMS inertia detecting switch movable from a first position to a second position on the basis of a movement. Besides, the kinetic sensitivity power switching integrated circuit includes a detector for operating the power switch to supply power from the input to the output on the basis of the movement of the MEMS inertia detecting switch from the first position to the second position. The first position and the second position can be respectively defined as ordinarily opened and closed positions. In the apparatus, until the MEMS inertia detecting switch is moved from the opened position to the closed position, supply of power can be stopped. The detector can generate a power-on reset (POR) signal on the basis of the movement of the MEMS inertia detecting switch from the opened position to the closed position. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fingerprint detector improved in durability, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: This fingerprint detector having a smooth sensing surface brought into contact with a fingerprint has capacitive sensor plates defining an array of sensor cells below the sensing surface and tungsten ESD protection grid lines surrounding each sensor cell. The sensing surface is defined by an alumina layer with the tungsten grid lines embedded therein. The alumina layer provides the sensing surface with improved scratch resistance. The resulting detector is more sensitive in its capacitive sensing due to the relatively high dielectric constant of the alumina layer. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for analog control of directional motors and other loads. SOLUTION: Directional loads are operable in plural directions. For example, A directional motor can rotate in clockwise and anti-clockwise directions. A directional load driver generates an output signal that causes directional loads to operate in one of the directions, thereby giving required function. The required function is identified using input signals such as state encoding input signals or the like. The state encoding input signals can be received by the directional load driver via a single wire or a single input pin. Under the control of the directional load driver, the directional loads can perform any function among a variety of functions. In the examples of applications to automobiles, the directional loads can perform window opening and closing, door locking or unlocking, or door opening and closing. In the examples of other applications, the directional loads can be used for housing door locking, home automation, or controls in industries. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
