Abstract: PURPOSE: A composition containing a natural perfume for alleviating seborrheic dermatitis of scalp is provided to prevent side effects after long-term use using natural product-derived essential oil, and to suppress proliferation and inflammation of bacteria causing seborrheic dermatitis. CONSTITUTION: A composition for alleviating seborrheic dermatitis in scalp contains 0.001-5% of one or more kinds of natural perfumes selected from the group consisting of peppermint oil, Cinnamomum cassia BL bark oil, Myristica fragrano Houtt oil, and Carum carvi fruit oil. The composition suppresses proliferation of bacteria causing seborrheic dermatitis. The bacteria include Malassezia furfur or Malassezia globosa. The composition suppresses inflammation on scalp.
