Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device with which a user's view is not completely interrupted by an image that is displayed artificially and of which optical system is easily designed, and to provide a communication system capable of providing new visual information by the use of the display device. SOLUTION: According to the invention, an image can be displayed while securing a user's view by using a light emitting device that can display an image and transmit light. Specifically, a pair of electrodes included in a light emitting element is formed to transmit light so as to transmit the outside light. By crossing a visual axis of a user and a pixel portion of the light emitting device, both of the outside light and the light emitted from the pixel portion can be incident on the eyeballs of a user. Abstract: シフトレジスタ回路の各段の出力端にラッチ回路を設け、出力を出したい段にパルスがシフトした段階でラッチパルスを入力し、次にラッチパルスが入力されるまでこの状態を保持し、次に出力を出したい段にパルスがシフトした段階で、ラッチパルスを入力すると、出力段を切り替えることができる。このようにすることで、クロック周波数を変えずラッチパルスを変化させるだけで選択する期間や選択する段を任意に選択することができる。
