    Abstract: PURPOSE: A composition containing a Phaseolus angularis extract for anti-androgen activity and/or prostate specific antigen (PSA) suppression is provided to suppress androgen and PSA and to effectively treat, alleviate, or prevent one or more diseases selected among alopecia, acne, prostate cancer, benign prostatic hyperplasia, and prostatitis. CONSTITUTION: An anti-androgenic pharmaceutical composition contains a Phaseolus angularis extract as an active ingredient. The extract is prepared using one or more solvents selected among water and C1-C4 alcohols. The pharmaceutical composition is used for preventing, treating, or alleviating one or more diseases selected among alopecia, acne, prostate cancer, benign prostatic hyperplasia, and prostatitis. A food composition for anti-androgen activity contains the extract. A composition for suppressing PSA contains the extract as an active ingredient.
