    Abstract: PURPOSE: A volume holographic digital storage system is provided to change a direction of a polarized light and to interfere with an object light and a reference light and to save an interference pattern of hologram data. CONSTITUTION: The volume holographic digital storage system comprises a space optical modulator(300) and a storage medium(400). In the space optical modulator(300), the object light of a first polarized light direction is modulated to page unit of the input data, and according to the input data, the space optical modulator irradiates an object light modulated to the first polarized light direction and an object light modulated to a second polarized light direction perpendicular to the first polarized light direction. In the storage medium(400), the interference pattern which is produced by the interference of the object light is saved.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: A playback device of a volume holographic digital storage system is provided to perform simultaneously a playback for a hologram data by storing a hologram data into a multitude of page units. CONSTITUTION: A playback device of a volume holographic digital storage system comprises: a horizontal Acousto Optical Device(AOD)(31); a circumference-shaped lens(34); a segment mirror(32); and a multitude of Charge Coupled Devices(CCD)(35,36,37). The horizontal AOD controls horizontally a playback reference beam. The circumference-shaped lens controls vertically the a playback reference beam. The segment mirror performs a playback for a hologram data into a multitude of page units. The multitude of CCDs converts the hologram data of page units to an electrical signal.
