    Abstract: PURPOSE: A system for detecting cirrus and a method for detecting the cirrus using the same are provided to easily confirm the distribution area of the cirrus and to improve the accuracy of the detection. CONSTITUTION: A system for detecting cirrus includes a non-polarized reflectivity determining part(200), a cirrus refraction index calculating part(300), and a cirrus characteristic analyzing part(400). The non-polarized reflectivity determining part determines the horizontal or vertical emissivity or the reflectivity of an arbitrary area to the cirrus. The cirrus refraction index calculating part calculates the refraction index of the cirrus. The cirrus characteristic analyzing part analyzes the characteristic of the cirrus based on the refraction index of the cirrus.
